Job Context

Meghna Hotel and Resorts Limited (MHRL), a concern of Meghna Group of Industries (MGI) is going to build a country-leading Five Star Hotel & Resorts and Commercial Building with aesthetic and state-of-the-art facilities in the heart of Dhaka City, Bangladesh MHRL is currently seeking for Assistant General Manager (AGM)/ Deputy General Manager (DGM) to oversee Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. This leadership position will entail full coordination and supervision of all MEP factors from the pre-construction phase to the construction phase and finally, the commissioning phase of the project, to guarantee the proper integration and efficiency of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The position will be accountable to the Project Director of MHRL.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all MEP works on site to ensure that they are in line with the overall project objectives and the company standards concerning the construction of the hotel.
  • Supervise the assessment of project plans, specifications, and design documents for conformity to the codes, regulations, and quality standards of constructing a hotel and approve significant changes in the design and plans of the hotel project as required by the standards of the hotel project.
  • Monitor structural and electrical engineers, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and the project management team for the proper execution of MEP works as the primary point of contact for significant MEP-related decisions based on the hotel project.
  • Develop, approve, and oversee project schedules to ensure timely completion of MEP activities, proactively resolving high-level delays or conflicts to maintain the integrity of the hotel project timeline.
  • Perform and supervise routine site visits to assess the quality of MEP works and to address key concerns or gaps that may compromise the quality of hotel projects and functionality.
  • Control and monitor expenses related to MEP works, such as material acquisition, workforce, and equipment, and maintain an efficient budgetary control system during the entire process of constructing the hotel.
  • Interact with the design team at the management level to ensure that the project can be easily adapted to the changing needs of hotel projects and to assess and implement major MEP design changes and modifications if necessary.
  • Supervise and ensure compliance with on-site health, safety, and environmental standards at a tactical level to ensure the construction of the hotel is carried out safely with little or no risks or negative impacts on the environment.
  • Maintain proper documentation by supervising the generation and management of documents such as MEP drawings, specifications, progress reports, and as-built records for the hotel project.
  • Supervise, coach, and train the MEP management team in areas of hotel construction to enhance the MEP department’s performance and productivity.
  • Promote efficient communication and interaction with the stakeholders, clients, and regulatory agencies regarding the project on the hotel to increase the likelihood of success of the project.
  • Encourage the use of advanced and efficient MEP solutions and practices in the hotel project, as well as being aware of trends and innovations in the industry to apply the most effective technologies and approaches to the operation of the hotel and the satisfaction of guests.
