Job Context

Meghna Hotel and Resorts Limited (MHRL), a concern of Meghna Group of Industries (MGI) is going to build a country-leading Five Star Hotel & Resorts and Commercial Building with aesthetic and state-of-the-art facilities in the heart of Dhaka City, Bangladesh. Currently, MGI is searching for AGM/ DGM, Planning & Costing who will be responsible for creating and controlling cost estimation functions, monitoring project budgets, ensuring financial accuracy at all stages of the project life cycle, adhering to monetary restrictions as well as optimizing resource allocation for successful completion of projects. The position will directly report to the Project Director of MHRL.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the synchronization of engineering, procurement, and construction schedules to incorporate innovative construction techniques for efficient project delivery.
  • Oversee the creation and management of detailed deliverable schedules and progress S curves to align with project timeframes and goals.
  • Develop and implement schedules with the intent of attaining fast-track goals to enhance the timeliness and resource utilization in the project.
  • Review contractor project plans to assess their compatibility with the Project Master Schedule and project goals.
  • Consult architects and consultants on the use of materials and technical specifications to conduct cost estimates and financial planning.
  • Conduct thorough market research on rates and materials to develop detailed technical specifications and compile Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for cost-effective procurement.
  • Supervise tendering activities, contractor rate negotiations, and the finalization of contractor rates to guarantee efficient and timely project delivery.
  • Carry out physical inspections of the sites to assess the quality and confirm that the implementation matches the design and BOQ standards.
  • Ensure strategic direction and supervision of the Planning and Costing team to ensure that their work supports the overall vision and mission of the organization and to enhance the achievement of project objectives.
  • Align the strategic direction and supervision of the Planning and Costing team with the organization’s overarching vision and mission to enhance the achievement of project objectives.
  • Verify and certify contractor invoices to facilitate project handovers and address any issues during the liability period to ensure seamless transitions and client satisfaction.
