  • Experience managing projects, including planning, budgeting, and monitoring progress.
  • Knowledge of youth development theories and practices, including mentorship, leadership development, and community engagement.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with community members, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting to track project outcomes and make informed decisions.
  • Understanding of financial principles and budgeting processes.
  • Sustainable development principles and practices.
  • Ability to prepare grant proposals and reports to secure funding for project activities.
  • Proficiency in using technology for project management, communication, and data analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • The ability to identify and address challenges in a timely and effective manner.
  • Skills to negotiate agreements with stakeholders and partners.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Summary:

The Dhrubotara Youth Development Foundation (DYDF) is a Non-Profit Organization dedicated to community development, youth engagement, and volunteerism, and is seeking a dynamic Area Manager for a project to drive positive change in the areas of socio-economic development and capacity building in Bangladesh through Youth development approach. This position will be based in the Nilphamari, Kurigram (Both) which is under Rangpur Hub. The strategic partners for the project are Department of Youth and Development (DYD), UCEP, CARE/ including other partners etc. The “USAID Bijoyee project”’ Is a comprehensive Initiative focused on empowering and engaging young people in Bangladesh. It aims to address various aspects of youth development, including education, skill building, employment, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and social inclusion as stated in project documents.

This Project is seeking for a highly organized and conversant development individual to join the DYDF team as Area Manager. The applicant who has experience with division and sector will get preference for youth. The Area Manager, will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and coordination of the project and work collaborative approach with all engaged stakeholders. S/He will ensure its successful execution and timely completion of work under the guidance of UCEP and CARE Bangladesh. The candidate should possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities and a proven record of accomplishment of successfully managing complex projects.

Responsibilities and Tasks :

  • Supervise, monitor and evaluate day-to-day activities of field implementation as per directive of Manager Skill and employment.
  • Responsible for planning and organizing all relevant events and supporting the field team for quality implementation.
  • Communicate with different institutions for organizing skill training and ensure quality of the training.
  • The management will ensure that every document and record are available before a head for quality training and events.
  • S/he will prepare reports and preserve those for future record and audit requirements.
  • Represent the project at various forums, conferences, and meetings.
  • Build networks and collaborations with other NGOs, government agencies, private sectors and relevant stakeholders to advocate for promotional event and engagement with private sector agencies
  • This position will move to regularly, support mobilizers, FO, trainers and others in organizing events, and ensure written reports to Manager-Skills and Employment record for evidential recommendations.
  • Manage and mentor a team of youth volunteers or staff.
  • Monitor project progress, track outcomes, and prepare regular reports.
  • Manage project budgets and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Identify and address challenges and risks associated with project implementation.
  • Promote and advocate for renewable energy and sustainable development within the community.
  • Have the capacity to maintain functional relationships to HC and with local stakeholders and beneficiaries and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Skills of training schedule and module development.
  • Skills of conducting meeting, training and social events.
  • Adequate interpersonal communication and negotiation skills
  • Any task delegated by the line manager
