Additional Requirements
Assessment Knowledge
- Understanding of the principles and practices of assessment, including various assessment methods (e.g., practical, written, online).
- Familiarity with competency-based training and assessment systems.
- Knowledge of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and relevant VET regulatory standards (e.g., Standards for RTOs).
- We are happy to provide training and access to ongoing PD for the right candidate.
Critical Thinking & Analytical Skills
- Ability to assess the validity, reliability, and sufficiency of submitted evidence.
- Skilled in identifying gaps in assessments and evidence.
- Ability to evaluate assessor decisions to ensure they are based on sound judgment and aligned with learning outcomes.

- High attention to detail when reviewing assessments and feedback, ensuring all components of competency are addressed.
- Ability to identify inconsistencies or errors in assessments, feedback, and evidence.
Communication Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to provide clear and constructive feedback to assessors and students.
- Ability to explain complex assessment and competency-related issues in a straightforward manner.
- Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate with trainers, assessors, and other staff.
Compliance and Regulatory Awareness
- Knowledge of relevant VET sector regulations, policies, and guidelines governing assessment and quality assurance processes.
- Ability to interpret and apply compliance standards in day-to-day operations.
- Initial and ongoing training will be provided to the right candidate.
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
- Understanding of quality assurance processes, including audit practices, and continuous improvement strategies.
- Ability to identify trends or issues within assessments and suggest improvements to enhance assessment quality.

- Ability to manage multiple assessments and deadlines simultaneously without compromising quality.
- Capacity to prioritize tasks and handle a high volume of work in a systematic manner.
Technology Proficiency
- Familiarity with digital assessment tools, learning management systems (LMS), and data management systems used for tracking and reviewing assessments.
- Ability to work with online platforms for evidence submission and feedback provision.
Collaboration and Teamwork
- Ability to collaborate with assessors, trainers, and other stakeholders in the educational process to ensure assessment quality.
- Willingness to provide guidance and mentorship to other assessors to improve their assessment marking.

Key responsibilities for this position:
Review and Validate Assessments:
- Independently review student assessments and the assessor’s evaluations to ensure they align with competency standards and evidence requirements.
Ensure Accuracy of Feedback:
- Monitor and assess the quality and clarity of feedback provided to learners, ensuring it accurately reflects their performance and supports their development.
Maintain Assessment Integrity:
- Verify that assessments are conducted in line with established guidelines, ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance with accreditation standards.
Provide Quality Assurance:
- Regularly audit completed assessments to ensure they meet required criteria and identify areas for improvement in assessment practices.
Collaborate with Assessors:
- Work closely with trainers and assessors to offer constructive feedback on assessment practices and ensure alignment with learning outcomes.
Report and Recommend Improvements:
- Provide detailed reports on assessment quality, highlighting any discrepancies, and recommend improvements to ensure continuous quality assurance.
- This role would ensure that the assessments remain credible, consistent, and up to the required standards.
