Requirements

Education

Diploma/BSC Degree in Mechanical Engineering is a must;

Experience

  • At least 5 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
    Group of Companies, Transportation, Supply Chain

Additional Requirements

  • Age 35 to 45 years
  • A professional with more than 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Applicant MUST have in-depth knowledge and experience in Hydraulic transmission/drive system, Container handlers (RST), Heavy Vehicle: engine and parts, Conventional Lathe machine;
  • The job involves hands-on supervision in workshops and terminals;
  • Applicant must have proven track records of managing medium/large teams;
  • Applicant must have experience in managing Transport/Logistic Maintenance Department in any prominent Local or Multinational Company;
  • Must be able to handle computer efficiently & good typing speed (English & Bengali) with sound operational knowledge in MS Word, Excel, Power Point applications, E-mail, Internet/Online browsing;
  • Willing to travel across country.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Description/ Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for both vehicle and machine maintenance;
  • Responsible for inventory management: Fuel, Parts, Tire etc.;
  • Responsible for workshop supervision;
  • Create CS for purchasing;
  • Responsible for dealing Vendors: Tire, Lubricants, parts etc.;
  • Attend accident site and deal with the situation;
  • Manage maintenance, oiling, installations and servicing of all vehicles & equipment such as: Prime Mover/Trailer, Heavy duty Crane, Container Handler (RST), Forklift, Passenger Vehicle, Lathe, Miller, Shaper, Furnace etc.;
  • Plan regular scheduled workdays for preventive maintenance tasks;
  • Follow and perform the petrol/diesel/lubricant filling, approved by the management;
  • Coordinate with foreman, machinist, mechanic, fitter, and cleaner for smooth maintenance;
  • Maintain repairing, servicing, fuel consumption, and spare parts records;
  • Ensure the scheduled checks on vehicle and spare parts;
  • Monitor daily, weekly and monthly stocks of spare parts, fuel, oil, lubricants; ensure timely submission of requisition at Head Office;
  • Test vehicles both before and after repair;
  • Manage work schedule/duty chart/log book for all drivers/operators/assistants/cleaners;
  • Ensure proper inventory of all components of vehicles are maintained and checked frequently;
  • Submit regular and comprehensive monthly report in relation with transport maintenance, fuel consumption, inclusion of any new vehicle, license/certificates registration, safety & security of the plant etc.;
  • Monitor and manage Vehicle Tracking Systems (VTS) and Inventory Management Systems;
  • Perform any other work as & when required by Management.
