Responsibilities & Context

Position reports to Executive House Keeper / Housekeeping Manager to create 100% Guest satisfaction by supervising rooms and public areas cleaning process. As the Assistant Housekeeping Manager, individual shall provide supportive leadership to the Housekeeping Department to maximize the operations. The Assistant Manager will act in the place of the Manager to ensure smooth daily operations of the team.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • ┬áLeading the daily operations of the House keeping department.
  • Provide leadership that inspires and engages the team to do their best every day.
  • Prepare work schedules to ensure all jobs are covered in assigned areas.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-the-house areas to on regular basis ensure they meet established cleanliness and quality standards.
  • Regularly inspect guest rooms, VIP rooms, corridors, lobby, public toilets, etc. to ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Schedule and assign work to subordinates, taking into account special requests and workload fluctuations.
  • Maintain close working relationship with other departments for the work efficiency to ensure the best possible service to guests.
  • Ensure the correct handling of lost guest property in accordance with Hotel procedures.
  • Create action plans and update departmental progress-based guest and employee Feedback.
  • Maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and other materials.
  • Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment, and place orders when necessary.
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback to improve productivity and effectiveness.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of departmental goals, objectives, and budgets.
  • Conducts training of new employees to explain company policies, housekeeping work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Conduct regular technical/skills training and set up and maintain ongoing training programs in the HK department in conjunction with the HR department.
  • Promotes teamwork within the department as well as a sense of fairness.
  • Ensures that all staff in the Housekeeping department knows and understands safety procedures and that effective reporting is maintained within the department.
  • Effectively handle all guest complaints concerning Housekeeping, taking corrective action to prevent recurrence and convert the guest into a repeat customer.
  • To assign duties, inspect work, and investigate complaints regarding Housekeeping service and equipment and hence take corrective action.
  • Establish standards and procedures for the work of Housekeeping team and ensure adequate service.
  • Maintain cost controls through proper use of resources and inventory management, and educate the team on the same.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objective of this position.
  • Maintains a favourable working relationship with all other hotel employees to foster and promote a co-operative and harmonious working environment.
  • ┬áKeeps immediate Supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
  • Ensure to maintain appropriate grooming standards in hygiene, uniforms, appearance, posture and conduct of the Housekeeping personnel.
  • Ensure to conduct daily briefings in order to provide effective and efficient services.
  • All other duties as assigned, planned or un-planned by the hotel authority.
  • At all times projects a favourable image of the Hotel to the public.
