Responsibilities & Context

Title: Assistant Vice President (AVP), Special Asset Management (SAM)

Reports to: Managing Director & CEO

Nature: Full Time Permanent

Major Duties and responsibilities:

  • Account Management: Preparing Annual Plan for collection and recovery of NPL Management, maintain and follow up on assigned accounts in accordance with management guidelines to ensure optimal recovery of NPL.
  • Client Database Maintenance: Maintain an accurate client database for the Recovery Department’s portfolio, ensuring all information is up-to-date and comprehensive.
  • Client Engagement: Conduct regular visit to customers and businesses of NPL portfolios, sharing insights and knowledge gained to guide Relationship Manager (RM) on specific NPL accounts, projects, or tasks as assigned.
  • Recovery Visits: Perform personal recovery visit, either individually or as part of a team, to borrower locations, guarantor addresses, and mortgaged properties, providing detailed reports to the Supervisor.
  • Legal Activities: Work closely with Legal Department. In order to ensure execution of all warrants and court instructions.
  • Cross-Departmental Communication: Maintain open communication channels with supportive departments, including Corporate, SME, Consumer, CRM, and others, to facilitate collaboration and information sharing.
  • Proposal Analysis: Scrutinize and conduct detailed analyses of reschedule/restructure/settlement proposals, making recommendations for approval to the Board in alignment with the Bank’s/NBFI’s guidelines.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to ICC department policies, internal procedures, and external regulatory requirements (Bangladesh Bank) throughout the approval process.
  • Letter Issuance: Prepare and issue various correspondence necessary for the Recovery Department’s operations.
  • Daily Collection Reporting: Compile and prepare daily collection reports for all departments, with a separate focus on legal and recovery activities.
  • Management Reporting: Prepare various reports related to rescheduling, restructuring, and reporting to Bangladesh Bank, as well as additional management reports as required.
  • Progress Reporting: Develop and update monthly or weekly reports to track progress and performance metrics.
