Requirements

Education

  • Master of Commerce (MCom) in Management, Master of Commerce (MCom) in Finance & Banking
  • Diploma course in Supply Chain Management will get preference.
  • IBA, Dhaka University,IBA, Jahangirnagar University students will get preference

Experience

  • 10 to 15 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
    Textile, Group of Companies, Dyeing Factory

Additional Requirements

  • Age 35 to 45 years
  • At least 4 years in a similar role within the Commercial division of an EPZ Garments company.
  • In-depth knowledge of BEPZA import and export regulations.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, smart, and well-conversant.
  • Ability to manage office operations efficiently and independently.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Coordinate activities across all sections of the Commercial department, including Export, Import, Customs, Bank, and Audit.
  • Liaise regularly with the Marketing & Merchandising and Accounts & Finance departments for shipment scheduling and fund management.
  • Oversee all commercial department activities, coordinating with other departments, government offices, local buyer liaison offices, audit firms, and banks.
  • Prepare invoices, packing lists, and process EXP forms for export consignments.
  • Manage the collection of Master L/Cs and the opening of Back-to-Back L/Cs for raw material procurement.
  • Correspond with local buying houses and foreign buyers regarding export documents via email.
  • Report to top management and participate in the Annual Executive Committee meetings to assist in decision-making.
  • Ensure timely submission of export documents to local buying houses or buyer representatives to obtain Inspection Certificates.
  • Submit export documents to banks for negotiation with buyers’ banks and follow up on payment realizations.
  • Organize import documents to ensure timely release of import consignments.
  • Manage all commercial activities, including PI issuance, L/C opening and amendments, shipment, negotiation, payment realization, and release, through international communication.
  • Oversee and manage LC-related tasks, ensuring proper HS codes for timely customs clearance.
  • Maintain communication with banks and agencies for import and export activities.
  • Liaise with government officials, C&F agents, banks, freight forwarders, and transport services for export and import purposes.
  • Ensure timely collection of Proceeds Realization Certificates (PRC) from banks.
  • Coordinate for cash incentives on specific products and negotiate preferential exchange rates with banks.
  • Submit shipping documents to customs stations on time.Handle customs processes, export clearance, and documentation in compliance with BEPZA rules.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of import and export, international business, trading, customs clearing and forwarding, and all aspects of the commercial department’s operations.
  • Ensure efficient logistics for import activities.
  • Prepare all export-related documents and communicate with buyers regarding export processes, including documents, shipping lines, C&F, banks, and other relevant institutions.
