Education

  • Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of audio and visual equipment, including but not limited to sound systems, microphones, projectors, displays, lighting systems, and control systems. This includes knowing how to set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain this equipment. The person Must understand Digital Front of House Mixers such as Allen & Heath SQ6, Soundcraft Digital Recording, Line Array Systems, Led DMX lighting control desk programming for scenes using Avolites Desk, Management of Led Screen and Implementation.
  • Technical Proficiency on IT: Strong technical skills are essential, including knowledge of computer hardware and software, networking fundamentals, audiovisual equipment, and systems integration.

Responsibilities & Context

Department: Admin

Reporting Line: IT Supervisor

Purpose: The job involves installing, maintaining, and operating audio-visual and IT equipment for various events, ensuring their proper storage, transportation, and setup. Responsibilities include performing quality checks, assembling and disassembling equipment, laying cables, and inspecting installations for safety compliance. Additionally, the role requires configuring and troubleshooting computer systems, providing technical support, and managing user accounts.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain audio-visual equipment including display devices, projectors, televisions, camera systems, video teleconferencing systems (VTC), microphones, and speakers.
  • Perform equipment storage and transportation activities in a safe and secure manner.
  • Set up and operate audio-visual equipment for training, presentations, meetings, and conferences.
  • Perform equipment additions, removals, repairs, replacements, and inspections.
  • Conducting sound, visual, and performance quality checks on AV equipment during live events.
  • Assemble and disassemble audio-visual equipment as needed.
  • Laying electrical and sound cables.
  • Inspecting mountings and electrical equipment to ensure they conform to health and safety regulations.
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks to ensure smooth operation and to identify and address problems promptly.
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
  • Providing technical support to end-users either face-to-face, over the phone or via email.
  • Setting up new user accounts and profiles and handling password issues.
  • Conducting regular system backups and data recovery in case of system failures.
  • Managing and keeping track of IT inventory and equipment.
  • Keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends and updating computer systems, software, and hardware accordingly.
  • Connect the projectors and the sound system in the classroom for smooth teaching and learning.
