Responsibilities & Context

Starling Diagnostics is dedicated to providing top-notch healthcare services to our patients. Our patient support operations are vital in ensuring our patients receive timely and effective assistance. We seek a highly experienced and proficient Business Manager to lead our patient support team and ensure operational excellence.

The Business Manager will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our patient support services, ensuring exceptional patient service, and achieving performance targets. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in healthcare management, impeccable English language proficiency, proficiency in EMR software, and a passion for healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of patient support supervisors and agents. Foster a positive and motivating work environment to drive high performance. Develop and implement strategies to improve team productivity and morale.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee daily patient support operations, including patient inquiries and appointment coordination. Monitor performance metrics (e.g., service volume, response times, patient satisfaction). Ensure compliance with company policies and healthcare regulations.
  • Performance and Quality Management: Set performance targets and KPIs for the patient support team. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to staff. Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high service standards.
  • Patient Experience: Develop strategies to enhance the patient experience and resolve escalated issues. Analyze patient feedback and implement improvements to service delivery. Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive patient service approach.
  • Resource and Budget Management: Manage patient support staffing levels and scheduling to meet demand. Prepare and manage the budget, controlling costs and optimizing resources. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze reports on performance, trends, and issues. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management. Utilize data to drive decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Training and Development: Responsible for delivering ongoing training to new and existing staff. This includes, but is not limited to, improving typing speed, enhancing professional communication skills for patient interactions over the phone, instructing on the use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software, and addressing other technical issues.
