  • Strong expertise in CAD software (Gerber, Lectra, Optitex, Tukatech, etc.)
  • Knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, grading, and fitting
  • Experience in fabric consumption analysis and cost estimation
  • Understanding of woven fabric characteristics and shrinkage factors
  • Ability to work with merchandisers, production, and QA teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills

Responsibilities & Context

  • Oversee the creation and modification of patterns using CAD software (e.g., Gerber, Lectra, Optitex).
  • Ensure accurate pattern grading, marker making, and fabric consumption calculations.
  • Review and approve fit, shrinkage, and tolerances before finalizing patterns.
  • Collaborate with designers and technical teams to ensure proper garment construction.
  • Maximize marker efficiency to reduce fabric wastage and improve cost-effectiveness.
  • Work closely with production and merchandising teams to align fabric consumption with order requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with client specifications, fabric constraints, and cutting standards.
  • Support the merchandising team by providing CAD-based fabric consumption and costing details.
  • Work with production teams to ensure smooth handover of CAD data for cutting and sewing.
  • Troubleshoot pattern and fitting issues with technical and quality control teams.
  • Ensure all CAD-generated patterns adhere to buyer specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct fit trials and pre-production approvals with merchandisers and QA teams.
  • Maintain records of pattern revisions, approvals, and modifications.
  • Manage CAD software licensing, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Train and supervise junior CAD operators and pattern makers.
  • Implement new technologies to improve efficiency in CAD operations.
  • Maintain CAD database, pattern archives, and marker efficiency reports.
  • Provide regular reports on fabric utilization, wastage, and marker efficiency to management.
  • Ensure proper documentation of patterns, markers, and production files.
  • Work with buyers, technical teams, and suppliers to meet pattern and fit requirements.
  • Provide CAD files and digital patterns as per buyer’s tech pack specifications.
  • Participate in buyer meetings and pre-production discussions.
