Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:

The human rights and development organization ‘Nagorik Uddyog’ has been working for the empowerment of the disadvantaged section of the Bangladeshi populations as a programmatic strategy for achieving its vision of a self-sustained egalitarian society. The organization will start implementing the new phase of the project titled ‘Protecting and Promoting the Rights of Dalits and Tackling the Poverty and Exclusion for the Excluded Groups’ from 1 January 2025, which will continue till 31 December 2027. The project mainly focuses on grounding need-based community development initiatives for Dalits, intensifying advocacy, campaigning and mobilization effort for making Dalit issues more visible, and strengthening the capacity of a national network. Nagorik Uddyog is looking for a capable individual for the position of ‘Campaign Coordinator’ who will mainly be responsible for strengthening the Dalit rights movement in Bangladesh by effectively engaging and facilitating the network leaders and activists through the implementation of planned activities under the aforementioned project as well as strengthen the capacity of the network.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop impactful campaign strategies, ensuring alignment with project goals and community needs.
• Work closely with Dalit leaders, activists, and community groups to co-create campaign activities.
• Engage directly with communities to raise awareness about their rights and strengthen grassroots networks.
• Organize issue-based rapid response events to address emerging challenges affecting Dalit communities.
• Collaborate with the Dalit-led network to execute campaigns on rights awareness, policy changes, and socio-economic inclusion.
• Provide supports in organizing training for Dalit leaders and activists in campaign planning, execution, and evaluation.
• Plan and manage events such as rallies, conventions, and public gatherings to amplify the voice of Dalits and other marginalized groups.
• Measure the reach and effectiveness of campaigns, gathering feedback to refine strategies.
• Develop and implement media plans, including press conferences, opinion editorials, and interviews.
• Work closely with media outlets to ensure comprehensive coverage of campaigns and events.
• Develop and execute a digital campaign strategy to amplify the visibility Dalit issues online.
• Partner with CSOs, including local Dalit CSOs and advocacy networks, to scale campaign efforts.
• Maintain a detailed record of campaign activities, media coverage, and participant feedback.
• Prepare activity completion report, periodic progress reports and other documents as per need.
• Undertake any other assignments as delegated by the organization.
