Responsibilities & Context
- Child Protection Nutrition officer provide technical support and guide the implementation of nutrition interventions along with child protection. She/he will ensure the effective and efficient implementation of activities directly related to management of Moderate Acute Malnutrition, Infant and Young Child feeding, friendly community initiative and capacity building of Community Nutrition Volunteers in the camp/host area.
- She/He will also responsible for timely field implementation, monitoring and documentation of children activities run through CP center and their integrated activities, Adolescent and youth development activities. will represent the project in all appropriate Camp level and community meetings deemed necessary for reaching projects’ goals
- Programmatic and technical support to implement CMAM and medical protocols in line with national and sector guideline for camp/host.Facilitate and coordinate integrated CP-FSN project-related activities, including meetings, trainings and field activities.Supervise and, capacity buildup and mentoring for smooth operations and outreach activities.Supervise and monitor volunteers in conducting accurate health checkup for referred 6-59 (M) children and PLW.Ensure adherence to admission and discharge criteria and protocol understanding.Provide routine training.Monitor and facilitate health and nutrition education sessions, day observation events, and SBCC activities.Ensure growth monitoring and promotion (GMP) for children under five.Ensure facilities are equipped with required nutrition supplies, equipment, and SBCC materials.Develop monitoring plan, interpretation of field findings and verification.Networking and Coordinate with stakeholders at the union and Upazila levels, including government authorities.Ensure accurate data recording & timely reporting for program implementation and related activities.Document and file information according to donor requirements.Document evidence-based lessons learned, successes, and challenges.
- Programmatic and Technical Support: Actively participate in planning, implementing, monitoring, and ensuring quality for the IMCN project, ensuring the nutrition program’s success in the community.Provide technical support for field operations through regular visits to ensure compliance with guidelines and protocols.Maintain community screening, identification, medical checkup, admission, and discharge criteria as per protocol, enhancing beneficiary management.Support SBCC approaches for frontline workers, focusing on IYCF, MIYCF, IFA, MTMSG, MAD, MDDW, Hygiene, ANC, PNC, and GMP promotional messages via monitoring and supervision.Conduct GMP analysis to identify malnutrition categories, calculate community nutritional status, and monitor activities.Determine project outcomes through root cause analysis of performance indicators aligned with international humanitarian standards.Analyze early MUAC detection, summarize reports, and prepare action plans based on findings.Maintain databases for children and PLW, ensuring monthly screening records are updated.Strengthen the programmatic knowledge of community nutrition volunteers (CNVs) to avoid common mistakes and deliver accurate health messages.Identify training needs and challenges in the field, developing tailored solutions.Implement corrective action plans based on capacity assessments to enhance CNV effectiveness.Assist with the operation of supplementary feeding programs and ensure hygiene standards in TSFP. Educate MoHFW staff and stakeholders on recognizing malnutrition causes and signs.
Capacity Building : Supervise CNVs to achieve maximum coverage in screening, referrals, and follow-ups, ensuring adherence to CMAM protocols.Identify training needs and provide on-the-job training for CNVs.Facilitate formal training sessions for volunteers or Model Mothers as necessary.Foster a collaborative team environment through regular meetings to discuss lessons learned.
Coordination and Networking: Engage in community mobilization and sensitization activities, including stakeholder and union parishad meetings.Maintain coordination with government health staff to support CC activities effectively.Collaborate with other partners delivering health and nutrition services in the area for effective outreach.
Reporting: Develop quality reports, including daily field visit reports, monthly case studies, situation reports, and project completion reports, following donor guidelines.Compile and submit monthly program reports to the line manager, ensuring accurate data recording and timely reporting.Document evidence-based lessons learned, successes, and challenges.
Others: Supervise CNVs in requisition and distribution of resources.Facilitate information sharing with partners at the union level.Ensure proper resource utilization and program accountability.Coordinate with TCN for comprehensive community outreach and health education.Document all relevant information per donor requirements.Perform additional duties as assigned by the line manager.
