Education

  • An advanced university degree preferably MSS/Masters Disaster Management /Anthropology Development Studies and English Literature/Bachelor Degree with excellent experience in the similar field.

Job Context

Center for Rural Service Society (CRSS) is a non-government humanitarian organization working for the advancement of poor and vulnerable women and men, children, old aged, excluded people and people with disability since 2002. It is a non-profitable, non-political, child and gender sensitive organization. It always values all diversified people without discriminating religions, casts, creeds and suppresses all sorts of discrimination with ethnic and minority people.

CRSS is implementing a program under the title Community Engagement and Sponsorship Plan (CESP) funded by World Vision Bangladesh (WVB). This program is being implemented at Wazirpur Upazila under Barishal district. The organization is currently searching a Community Development Officer-CDO to implement field level activities successfully.

Job Responsibilities

  • Project Implementation;
  • Develop plan and implement the project activities at field level;
  • Organize and facilitate training, workshop, courtyard session at community level as per plans.
  • Assist Program Manager (PM) to facilitate community led development process with local groups and relevant stakeholders, including the use of participatory facilitation techniques, such as PRA, PLA and rights-based approaches
  • Build relationships with individuals, social groups, institutions, and organizations;
  • Develop cohesion amongst community and monitor and implement Community Development Plans and share the projects;
  • Encourage, affirm, and strengthen those individuals and groups who are working for and with the most vulnerable children;
  • Encourage an understanding of and sensitivity to child development and child vulnerability factors among community members and local partners;
  • Facilitate relationship building and strengthen relationships and partnerships between existing groups in the community;
  • Coordinate with technical specialists and other sector staffs for effective program integration and quality implementation;
  • Provide support to community facilitators/groups for effective implementation of project activities;
  • Assist PM to select, train, support and monitor community facilitators / groups in implementing project activities;
  • Activate community-based Child Protection Mechanisms and Safeguarding at community level;
  • Engage at individual and household level to facilitate the development process of the most vulnerable;
  • Build strong relationships with local policy makers and GOs, CSO and other outlets so that our stakeholders’ efforts receive the best coverage for advancing their goals;
  • Cooperate for ensuring effective coordination, communication and implementation of advocacy and campaign related activities;
  • Collect information and data for evidence-based advocacy for further planning and actions;
  • Project models, program accountability to ensure successful accomplishments of the program activities to create impacts in the community;
  • Reporting, Prepare formative and narrative event report, monthly report, case study, story of changes, best practices and impact analysis;
  • Prepare monthly PFA activity plan;
  • Prepare documents on lesson learnt, challenges and best practices and report to the PM.
  • Regular DMIS entry, Monitor PD/Hearth Data entry in system (Cobo Link), Real time Monitoring, Complain/feedback data entry, LR Data Entry in MEQA tools and other related data entry.
  • B. Working Condition: The post of Community Development Officer is a field-based position with at least 80% field, contact with field level stakeholders, local government representatives and other influential stakeholders. He will undertake the TP and CESP activities in a creative and innovative manner. The policies of CRSS and partnership operation guide line of WVB will govern the terms and conditions of his employment.
