Responsibilities & Context
Reportable to: Technical Officer (livelihood)
Position Overview: The Community Mobilizer for the Routes to Self-Sufficiency: Sustainable Livelihoods and Empowerment for Rohingya Refugees and host community project will play a pivotal role in engaging and mobilizing community members to actively participate in project activities, fostering ownership, and ensuring the project’s success. This role involves building strong relationships, raising awareness, and facilitating community empowerment through effective communication and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement and Outreach:
-
Identify and build relationships with key community stakeholders, including local leaders, groups, and individuals.

Conduct door-to-door visits, community meetings, and awareness sessions to introduce the project and its benefits to community members.

Explain project objectives, activities, and expected outcomes in an understandable manner.

Needs Assessment and Participation:
-
Conduct participatory needs assessments to understand community aspirations, challenges, and existing skills.
-
Collaborate with community members to co-design project interventions that are tailored to their needs and preferences.

Capacity Building:
-
Organize and facilitate skill development and training sessions for community members, enabling them to actively participate in project activities.
-
Provide guidance on livelihood-related skills, entrepreneurship, and income-generating opportunities.

Behavior Change and Awareness:
-
Promote behavior change and positive attitudes toward project objectives, encouraging active participation and sustainability.
-
Raise awareness about relevant topics such as sustainable practices, gender equality, and social inclusion.

Project Implementation Support:
-
Assist in the planning and coordination of project activities in collaboration with project teams and partners.
-
Ensure effective communication between project teams and the community to address challenges and opportunities.

Data Collection and Feedback:
-
Gather feedback from community members to ensure their voices are heard in project decision-making.

Collect and document success stories, testimonials, and lessons learned from the community.

Monitoring and Reporting:
-
Monitor the progress and impact of project activities at the community level, reporting challenges and achievements to project management.

Collaborate with the M&E team to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.

Networking and Collaboration:
-
Liaise with local organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to enhance the project’s reach and impact.

Represent the community in meetings and forums related to the project’s objectives.

Safeguarding and PSEA:
-
Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding and PSEA implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment. Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding and PSEA policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
