Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, development studies, community development, etc.).

Experience

Additional Requirements

• 5 years of experience in community engagement, mobilization, or development work.
• Work experience in the host community context in Teknaf is highly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
• Ability to demonstrate a clear and genuine willingness to work and learn quickly and be committed to developing professionally in the field of GBV, in particular – supporting adolescent girls protection and empowerment – essential;
• Clear understanding of and interest in the well-being of adolescent girls;
• Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to build trust and rapport with community members.
• Excellent facilitation and training skills.
• Knowledge of participatory approaches and community-based development principles.
• Problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to community empowerment, social justice, and sustainable development.
• Languages: Proficiency in English and Bengali. Knowledge of Chittagonian dialects is highly preferred.

Responsibilities & Context

Duration of the position: 1 year (from 1 May 2025) with possibility of extension for another 1 year.

Reportable to: Project Officer

Position Overview: The main responsibility of the Community Mobilizer is to engage communities, promote GBV programming, and increase access for women and girls in the MPCC. He/She will lead GBV prevention efforts, working closely with community structures to drive positive behavioral change through initiatives like Girl Shine and EMAP plus. This role involves organizing awareness sessions, collecting community feedback, and implementing strategies to foster community acceptance of the MPCC.
