Responsibilities & Context

ABOUT PRERONA: PRERONA is a women-led feminist non-governmental organization based in the Satkhira district of Bangladesh, founded in 2006 by a group of like-minded social workers. Since its inception, PRERONA has been dedicated to empowering vulnerable women in the coastal regions. These women often face persecution, exploitation, and are subjected to gender-based violence due to societal impact, social stigma, and natural calamities, all of which exacerbate gender disparity.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build trusting relationships with community members and local stakeholders.
• Organize community meetings, workshops, and forums to identify issues and develop solutions.
• Mobilize people for campaigns, awareness drives, and advocacy actions.
• Conduct door-to-door outreach and facilitate focus group discussions.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of community development projects.
• Identify and support the development of community leaders.
• Maintain records of outreach activities and prepare regular reports.
• Collaborate with NGOs, local authorities, and service providers to link communities with resources.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of community organizing initiatives.
• Promote inclusivity, equity, and gender sensitivity in all activities.
