Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:

  • The position is a part of the Compliance Management initiative which ensures that the organization conducts its activities in compliance with the laws and regulations, professional standards, international as well as UN standards, and accepted ethical practices.
  • The purpose of the position is to achieve a more risk-informed management through identification of risks, root cause analysis, implementation of risk mitigation measures and response to risks, and compliances.
  • Conduct investigation at regular intervals giving particular attention being paid to risks of fraud, corruption, terrorism, money laundering and sexual exploitation and abuse of beneficiaries as well as harassment in work-place.
  • Reporting to the Head of HR & Admin, the incumbent will support functional and operational Heads, Project Managers/Coordinators in effective risk management and compliance thereby improving risk culture and integrity in the organization.
  • The position holder shall assist in reviewing the adequacy of risk management and compliance system, structures, policies & procedures and capacities across the organization and support development and delivery of measures as appropriate for their strengthening.
  • The major task of the position is to uphold the ethical integrity of the organization and also ensure that organizational activities are conducted using a regulatory framework.
  • Compliance with relevant policies and rules in operational management constitutes a significant component of risk mitigation and compliance management. Therefore, the position will include review of compliance and support to address any issues arising, with analysis of reasons for non-compliance and appropriate measuring going forward.
  • The position holder will work with the Senior Management, Project Managers and staff to assist and build their capacities and address and compliances in their areas of responsibility.
  • Duties and Responsibilities·
  • Provide support on risk management approaches, tools and compliance issues to management and different functional units.
  • Support the integration of risk management in operational planning and decision-making process.
  • The incumbent will be accountable for ensuring all the essential guidelines/policies & procedures are put in proper place accurately adhering to rules and regulations.
  • Conduct investigation on allegation and audit observations and reviews at regular intervals to ensure that compliance procedures are regularly followed.
  • Be involved with the safety of employees and organizational assets as well.
  • Make ensure that all the employees are thoroughly updated about the organization’s policies, regulations, and processes.
  • Resolve employee issues about the legal risk compliances.
  • Support in implementing the Safety and Safe-guarding services across the Organization.
  • Revise policy, rules, reports, and procedures at regular intervals to recognize the risks.
  • Support the review of risks across the operation including identification, analysis and assessment.
  • Maintain and update the Organizational Risk Register as an live risk management tool.
  • Support the coordination and delivery of relevant trainings, workshops and other capacity building initiatives relevant to risk management and compliance internally and with stakeholders.
  • Contribute to update the legal requirements of organizational land, assets, vehicles in collaboration with the HR & Admin Department.
  • Assist in the coordination and the follow-up on the oversight entities recommendations (audit, inspection, evaluation as well as internal compliance monitoring/coordination review assignment), and take appropriate action with the operation’s focal points to address any problems or difficulties arising from monitoring of the process.
  • Contribute to inter-agency forums and discussions related to risk management and compliance.
  • Assist the risk management committee and functional units in the operation with all aspects and of risk management tools.
  • Prepare/contribute relevant inputs to reports and analysis as requested.
  • Access to staff and records as required to perform work.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
