Education
FCPS/MS in Ophthalmology or equivalent postgraduate qualification recognized by BMDC. Valid registration with the Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC).
Experience
At least 8 years

Responsibilities & Context
Examine, diagnose and treat patients with ophthalmic diseases and disorders.
Perform comprehensive eye examinations using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
Manage outpatient (OPD), inpatient, emergency and referral ophthalmology cases.
Perform ophthalmic surgical procedures according to competency and hospital privileges.
Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
Deliver evidence-based, ethical and patient-centered care.
Counsel patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options and prognosis.
Maintain patient confidentiality and informed consent.
Participate in departmental meetings, clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
Comply with hospital policies, protocols, infection prevention and patient safety standards.
Report clinical incidents and adverse events promptly.
Participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities.
Teach and supervise intern doctors, residents and medical students.
Participate in research and academic programs whenever required.
