Responsibilities & Context

CSS is a humanitarian and socio-economic development organization that has been operating in Bangladesh since 1972. Within the Health Sector, CSS manages the Reverend Abdul Wadud Memorial Hospital (RAWMH), a 100-bedded general hospital located at Tilok, Rupsha, Khulna. The hospital provides comprehensive healthcare services including Eye, Mother & Child, Dental, ENT, Orthopedic, and General units. We are seeking qualified and experienced candidate for the position of “Consultant-Eye” in this hospital.

Responsibilities:

• Examine, diagnose and treat OPD patients referred by the Medical Officers or directly in case of rush or demanding situation in the unit.
• To prescribe medicines within the selected companies.
• Help the ophthalmic assistants in preparation and maintenance of disease profile.
• Refer patients for Auto – refraction and pathology to respective situation.
• Refer patients to other Units of the hospital as it deems necessary.
• Perform minor extra – ocular surgeries in OPD.
• Admit patients for operation and also conservative treatment.
• Suggest monetary consideration for poor patients if any be finally decided by the hospital management.
• Make regular Ward Rounds.
• Perform Intra and extra – ocular surgeries in the eye OT.
• Follow up of post – operative patients and patients admitted for conservative treatment.
• Refer complicated Eye patients to other Tertiary Eye Care Center from RAWM Hospital or even Eye Camps.
• Conduct education session for CSS Nursing Institute students, submit question papers of relevant subjects and examine the answer sheets and score them before submitting to The Principle, CSS Nursing Institute.
• Conduct practical training sessions for Community Health Workers on Primary Eye Care and Near Vision – spectacle correction.
• Be involved in the teaching program of the Nursing Institute / hospital if required.
• Attend all emergency calls and operations as necessary.
• Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
