Educational Background:

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Human Resource Management, Law, Organizational Psychology, Ethics & Compliance, Business Administration, or related field.

Profile

  • Strong analytical and investigative abilities to assess complex information related to HR practices and organizational culture and uncover root causes of identified issues.

  • Excellent written English skills for preparing reports and verbal communication for engaging stakeholders.

  • Fluency in English and the local language (Bangla).

  • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including interviews and data analysis.

  • Discretion and empathy when handling sensitive issues.

  • Ability to build trust and rapport with various stakeholders and manage conflicts.

  • Deep understanding of the cultural and legal context of Bangladesh.

  • Strong organizational skills for managing the evaluation process, setting timelines and ensuring deliverables.

  • Relevant certifications in HR, compliance or organizational development (e.g., PHR, CEAP) are advantageous.

  • Strong references from previous consultancy projects of a similar nature.

Responsibilities & Context

Assess the Impact of Organizational Culture, Management and HR Practices on Employee Wellbeing:

  • Assess key internal factors such as organizational culture, leadership styles, decision-making processes, team dynamics and internal communication practices that affect the working environment at Tdh.

  • Assess the effectiveness of communication channels and the clarity of organizational mission and values in supporting employee wellbeing.

  • Analyze how these factors influence employee interactions, motivation and overall staff morale and identify opportunities for enhancing the work environment to create an optimal and productive organizational climate.

Analyze HR Process Effectiveness and Identify Areas for Improvement:

  • Explore the effectiveness of existing HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, offboarding and employee support systems.

  • Assess the role of senior management in leading HR practices and evaluate staff training and development processes.

  • Review performance appraisal systems and performance improvement plans to determine their impact on operational efficiency and staff morale.

  • Analyze complaints addressed at the level of delegation and HQ, as well as the disciplinary actions and learnings from past cases to improve future practices.

Evaluate Organizational Structure and Accountability:

  • Examine the organizational structure, including reporting lines and job descriptions, to ensure they are clear and effective.

  • Assess accountability mechanisms, both within the organization (Tdh towards staff and volunteers) and in relation to beneficiaries (staff and volunteers towards beneficiaries).

Provide Actionable Recommendations for Enhancing Management and HR Practices:

  • Offer specific, actionable recommendations to address identified issues and improve management and HR practices.

  • Suggest new training programmes, and changes to operational procedures to promote a supportive and effective work environment.

  • Recommend improvements to adaptive management practices, including management’s agility, flexibility and responsiveness to changes and challenges.

Evaluate Compliance with Tdh’s HR & Management Global Policies and the Bangladesh Labour Law:

  • Review adherence to both Tdh’s internal policies and relevant local laws.

  • Examine the implementation of new policies and processes to ensure they are in line with global standards and local regulations.

The Consultant will provide the following deliverables:  

  • Inception Report: An inception report outlining the detailed approach, methodology and work plan.

  • Comprehensive Final Report: A comprehensive report (which will incorporate Tdh’s feedback on all draft versions), including detailed findings, conclusions, recommendations, an implementation action plan and follow-up and monitoring framework.

  • Supporting Documentation: Any additional documents, such as survey results, interview transcripts, policy reviews and legal references.

  • Presentation: A summary PowerPoint presentation of the findings and recommendations to Tdh’s HQ and Senior Management Team.
