Responsibilities & Context

BRAC University seeks to appoint a qualified leader to appoint as the Controller of Examinations. This pivotal role will oversee the entirety of the examination system, ensuring strict adherence to all regulations and standards. The Controller of Examinations will be an academic champion, driving excellence in student learning by upholding the highest standards in assessment.

Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, this position will be responsible for supervising all assessment aspects, ensuring fairness, accuracy, and adherence to best practices, while also managing logistics, facilitating workshops, and safeguarding confidentiality. The Controller will champion innovation in assessment for both in-person and online learning, offering faculty training and collaborating with the University Learning and Teaching Innovation Centre (LTIC) to advance teaching and learning excellence.

Responsibilities include planning and delivering assessments effectively, managing examination preparation and grading with confidentiality, and collaborating with administrative offices for streamlined processes. Additionally, the role involves developing policies, conducting audits for improvement, and maintaining secure data management. Ensuring a high-quality student experience, troubleshooting assessment issues, and arranging alternative assessments for students with special needs are also key tasks. Overseeing the Examinations Unit team, participating in University events like Convocation, and engaging in committees to advocate for best practices are also integral aspects of the role.
