Requirements
Education
- Masters in any discipline
- Master degree or equivalent combination of education on Science/Social Science preferably in Statistics, Sociology, and Economics from reputed Universities in Bangladesh or abroad.
- Educational qualifications & age may be relaxed for highly experienced, skilled & competent candidates.
Experience

- Minimum 5 years experiences as MEAL/M&E staff in National/ INGOs.
- Work experiences in USAID’s BHA/OFDA fund will be treated as an advantage.
- Have knowledge on hazards and shocks in the contexts on Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) and Cox’s Bazar of Bangladesh.
- Ability to produce high quality reports analyzing database within the stipulated timeframes.
- Evidence of having undertaken similar assignments.
- Work with the team as per management requirement.
- Ability to travel extensively to working locations and willing to stay at field
Responsibilities & Context
Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and nonprofit development organization that has been operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices (Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, and Sylhet Region). CB is currently operating 91 projects covering 52 Districts and 201 Upazilas focusing on eight main priorities: i) Social Welfare and Service of Love for Vulnerable Communities, ii) Ecological Conservation, Climate Justice and Sustainable Food System, iii) Humanitarian Response and Disaster Management, iv) Education, Skill Development and Employment Creation, v) Health Care, Nutrition and Education, vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples, vii) Integral Human Development and viii) Institutional Development and Sustainability.
Caritas Bangladesh (CB)’s Chattogram Regional Office is looking for suitable candidates for the project of “Supporting end-to-end Landslide Early Warning and Anticipatory Action in Bangladesh (LEWS)” Project” supported by START NETWORK under their solidarity fund and also to generate a panel for future recruitment.
Due to the termination of the LEWS project by BHA/USAID, the project had to be closed unexpectedly. In response to this situation, we proactively reached out to potential donors to explore the possibility of continuing project activities at least until December 31st’2025
The details of the positions including job responsibilities, educational qualification and other qualities /competency required for the above position are given below as ready reference:

Job Nature: Contractual/ Temporary (06 month)
Job location: Project Office, Bandarban Sadar, Bangladesh.
The Coordinator (MEAL) is responsible for providing technical support for planning, designing and implementation of MEAL system of the project with support of SCCF/START NETWORK/Donor and implementing partner’s MEAL and program team.
Lead project/field based team for design, planning and implementing MEAL system as per project requirement.
Play the key role to prepare and ensure monthly/quarterly/six-monthly progress and narrative quality report of the project activities as per project agreement and shared with Central Office timely through Project Coordinator.
Able to use Kobo toolbox/CommCare or mobile based tools independently and manage field level data though this.
Should have MIS expertise and/or able to manage big database independently is required.
Provide necessary data support to project team for implementation of activities with proper reporting format and/or document required.
Develop questionnaire, arrange field testing before data collection and ensure other materials needed to extract data pertaining to the activities.
Take lead in providing support to Upazila team for collecting required data and ensure mechanism and pace for data validation.
Prepare monitoring tool for the project by taking support from Manager MEAL of CB/ SCCF/START NETWORK/Donor.
Undertake field visit at project area as per demand of the project and make individual plan for collecting data for project monitoring purpose.
Regularly update community/HHs/stakeholders database
Measure project achievement as per DIP each month even weekly, if required.
Monitor progress and performance of the project activities and prepare monitoring report of the Project as and when needed.
Share the periodic progress explaining the key accomplishment and hurdles across Upazila based on the M&E systems developed in the project. This will guide the senior leadership to take appropriate decision.
Assist in research activities study/evaluation process, and data compilation and provide necessary support in preparation of study/evaluation report of Project.
