Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:

Gana Unnayan Kendra (GUK) Bangladesh is looking for a qualified and committed professional for the position of Coordinator-Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning/(Head of MEAL) with responsibilities for development, implementation and management of Monitoring & Evaluation system within various sectors and contexts of the organization. Potential candidate for the MEAL position requires to possess a deep understanding of various data collection methods, performance indicators, and evaluation frameworks used to assess the impact and effectiveness of programs, projects, and policies of the organization. The person also should be proficient in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, interpreting findings, and generating actionable insights to contribute in decision-making and improve program outcomes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection and evaluation procedures;
  • Monitor all project activities, expenditures and progress towards achieving the project output;
  • Monitor and evaluate overall progress on achievement of results;
  • Conduct capacity assessment on existing monitoring and evaluation system;
  • Develop indicators and a monitoring strategy for the project;
  • Recommend further improvement of the logical framework;
  • Develop monitoring and impact indicator for the project success;
  • Provide inputs, information and statistics for quarterly, annual and other reports to Project Management Team;
  • Participate in annual project reviews and planning workshops and assist the Project Managers in preparing relevant reports;
  • Support monitoring and evaluation of the effects and impact of the project;
  • Provide feedback to the Project Managers on project strategies and activities;
  • Suggest strategies to the Project Management for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the project by identifying bottlenecks in completing project activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks;
  • Report monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual progress on all project activities;
  • Measurable Outputs and Performance Indicators;
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned by the management.
