Requirements

Education

• Master’s in Psychology /social science and relevant subjects from any recognized university;

Additional Requirements

• Age at most 40 years

• Must have at least 3 years of similar experience in Counselling field. Professional working experience in trafficking survivors, individual and group counselling. Experience in Human Trafficking project (preference) ;
• The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances;
• Qualified female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply

Responsibilities & Context

Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is implementing the project “FSTIP Project” in Jashore, Jhenaidah, Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Barisal and Madaripur district with the support of Winrock International and looking for the following position:

Position Title: Counselor

Employment Status: Full time

Reportable to : Project Coordinator, FSTIP Project

Based : Jashore district

Activity Area: Jashore, Jhenaidah, Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Barisal and Madaripur (7 District)

Job Summary: The position will support the Counseling of the survivors in project activities. Maintain proper discretion and confidentiality to build trust with Men and Women who Have Escaped Trafficking (survivors of human trafficking), their families, peers and community. Verification of victim identification process to ensure valid and proper enrolment of beneficiaries. Interested candidates are requested to apply for the position with required qualification and expertise.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintain proper discretion and confidentiality to build trust with survivors of human trafficking, their families, peers and community. Verification of victim identification process to ensure valid and proper enrolment of beneficiaries;
• Conduct comprehensive Mental State Examination (MSE) of clients using FSTIP Project’s specific tools and the guideline.
• Provide psychosocial counselling service to the survivors, their family and communities, based on their need and context following the “Do No Harm” principle.
• Provide need based Psychosocial support to survivors during training, On- the-Job training, Job placement and follow up phase of survivor’s reintegration process.
• Keep record and maintain all kind of forms/registration, reports, files, guidelines and other documents related to his/her jurisdiction. e.g counselling, psychosocial support, behavioural data collection etc.
• Provide training, guidance and support to project staff for utilizing monitoring tools, technique and calendar;
• Maintain overall case management process, system maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
• Asst to prepare monthly, quarterly and other periodical report as per guideline and requirement of FSTIP Project.
• Maintain close liaison with other relevant stakeholders from government and non- government organizations.
• Participate in different training, meeting, workshop, seminar, symposium-organized by the project and other counterpart.
• Provide necessary support to other team members when needed or instructed by his/her supervisor or organization.

Compensation & Other Benefits

Salary

• Consolidated Salary: 25,000 BDT (consolidated) per month (Yearly 5% inflation)
