Responsibilities & Context

Job Context

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Security Expert to protect and secure our organization’s digital infrastructure. This role requires a proactive professional with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat management, and risk mitigation strategies. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our systems are robust, secure, and compliant with industry standards, while also safeguarding the organisation’s reputation by managing digital risks, including social media vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and Protect Systems
• Continuously monitor networks for security breaches.
• Deploy, manage, and update security tools to protect against cyber threats.
• Incident Response
• Investigate and respond to security breaches promptly.
• Create detailed reports post-incident and recommend preventive measures.
• System and Network Hardening
• Implement firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and data encryption.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
• Manage Social Media Risks
• Monitor and respond to cybersecurity threats on social media platforms.
• Mitigate the impact of negative reviews, fake accounts, or fraudulent activities that could harm the organization’s reputation.
• Compliance and Governance
• Ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR).
• Maintain documentation of security policies and procedures.
• Training and Awareness
• Educate employees on cybersecurity best practices.
• Conduct regular training sessions on phishing, malware, and other cyber risks.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security roles.
• Proficient in security tools like firewalls, IDS/IPS, and antivirus software.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, threat intelligence, and encryption.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SIEM solutions like Splunk or ELK Stack.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell).
• Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience in managing digital reputation risks, including handling and mitigating social media-related vulnerabilities.
