Responsibilities & Context

Lead and manage the overall Knitting Department, ensuring smooth and efficient production operations.

Take full responsibility for producing all types of Circular Knitted Fabrics according to buyer requirements, specifications and quality standards.

Plan and monitor knitting production based on production schedules, fabric requirements and delivery deadlines.

Handle different types of circular knitting machines, fabrics, yarns, gauges, structures and fabric constructions.

Ensure proper machine setting, knitting parameters, GSM, stitch length, loop length and fabric specifications.

Develop and implement effective production plans to achieve optimum machine utilization and production targets.

Monitor fabric quality and ensure compliance with required GSM, width, shrinkage, appearance, construction and other quality parameters.

Coordinate with Production, Planning, Dyeing, Quality, Merchandising, Maintenance and Store departments for smooth workflow.

Identify and resolve knitting-related technical problems, machine faults and production bottlenecks.

Minimize fabric defects, wastage, machine downtime and production losses.

Ensure proper preventive maintenance and timely servicing of knitting machines in coordination with the Maintenance Department.

Monitor yarn consumption, fabric yield and production efficiency to control costs.

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for knitting operations.

Lead, motivate and develop knitting supervisors, technicians, operators and other team members.

Ensure compliance with company policies, workplace safety requirements and applicable compliance standards.

Prepare and review daily, weekly and monthly production and performance reports.

Analyze production data and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and efficiency.

Ensure timely production of quality fabric while maintaining cost-effectiveness.

Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the management.
