• Strong knowledge of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
• Proficient in SQL and performance tuning.
• Understanding of data backup, recovery, and security.
• Familiarity with database design and documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proven experience as a DBA or similar role.
• Hands-on experience with relational database systems.
• Experience with cloud-based database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP, etc.) is a plus.

Responsibilities & Context

• Install, configure, and maintain database systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.).
• Ensure database security, integrity, stability, and system availability.
• Perform database tuning and performance monitoring.
• Plan and execute data backup and recovery strategies.
• Design and implement database schemas, tables, views, and procedures.
• Work closely with development and DevOps teams to integrate databases with applications.
• Automate and optimize regular maintenance tasks.
• Handle database migrations, upgrades, and patches.
• Provide technical support and training to other teams as needed.
• Maintain documentation of systems, processes, and procedures.
