A good knowledge of the operating system(s)A good knowledge of physical database design.
Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance monitoring and the necessary adjustments.

Excellent knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery scenarios.
Experience and knowledge in migrating code, database changes, data and menus through the various stages of the development life cycle.
A good knowledge of the way Oracle enforces data integrity.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Up-to-date knowledge of technology and the Data Protection Act Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications.
Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding.
Be self-driven and able to work independently as well as in a team.
Must be proactive, energetic and determined to meet deadline.
Sincerity, honesty, hard work will be the key focus and target oriented.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Context: We are looking for experienced and leadership qualified DBA for our Banking Solutions team. Job Description:

Creates and maintains all databases required for development, testing, education, and production usage.
Performs the capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases.
The DBA works closely with system administration staff because computers often have applications or tools on them in addition to the Oracle Databases.
Performs ongoing tuning of the database instances.
Install new versions of the Oracle RDBMS and its tools and any other tools that access the Oracle database.
Plans and implements backup and recovery of the Oracle database.
Controls migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes and menu changes through the development life cycle.
Implements and enforces security for all the Oracle Databases.
Performs database re-organizations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database.
Puts standards in place to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security, and performance.
The DBA will perform reviews on the design and code frequently to ensure the site standards are being adhered to.
Administers all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages, and procedures.
Design and implement database in accordance to end users’ information needs and views.
Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner.
Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data.
Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards.
Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
