Requirements

Education

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:

Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is a National NGO with Consultative Status with UN ECOSOC and UNESCO. It works for social and spiritual development of the human community Founded by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah (R.), an eminent educationist, reformer and Sufi. The founding motto of DAM is ‘Divine and Humanitarian Service’, over last 65 years DAM has been serving the human community for improved living conditions enhancing people’s capacities to maximally utilize their inner potentials. DAM’s current diversified works encompass multi-dimensional field Programs and self-governing institutions in education, health and economic development sectors in Bangladesh, looking for a competent, self-motivated and highly experienced Deputy Director ( Internal Audit Unit) for immediate appointment.

As the Deputy Director of Internal Audit, he will be accountable for audit functions across all subsidiaries within the DAM & its sister concern along donor funded projects. He will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with external & internal requirements, identifying and mitigating risks, and enhancing internal controls.

Job Location:

Head Office, Dhaka Ahsania Mission, Dhanmondi with frequent travel to outside Dhaka as per organization requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an effective internal audit program.
  • Plan and execute audit engagements in accordance with auditing standards.
  • Identify areas of risk and provide recommendations for improving internal controls.
  • Manage and mentor a team of internal auditors.
  • Report audit findings to senior management and the Audit Committee.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Conduct special investigations as needed
  • Stay current with DAM and its sister concern with donor funded projects trends and best practices in internal auditing
  • Develop and maintain audit documentation and work papers
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies
  • Provide training and development opportunities for audit staff
  • Prepare and present audit reports to auditee
  • Assist in the development of the annual audit plan.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the organization’s risk management processes.
  • Perform follow-up audits to ensure corrective actions have been implemented.
  • Maintain a high level of professional ethics and integrity.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the organization’s strategic objectives through effective audit practices.
