Requirements

Education

  • Graduation in any discipline preferably in Accounting or Finance or any business-related subject. Qualified/ partly qualified chartered accountants from a reputed chartered accountancy firm/ ACCA/CMA will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • At least 3 years

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in Audit, Compliance; Accounting, Finance and Laws and Regulations
  • Highly proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Strong team-building skills with collaborative communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in finance and accounting, with knowledge of IFRS, tax, and compliance principles.
  • Strong innovative, analytical, and improvisational abilities, along with a proactive and self-starting attitude, contribute significantly to job performance.
  • Familiarity with accounting tools to streamline operations.

JOB PURPOSE

  • This position will be responsible for overseeing BRAC’s consolidation process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in alignment with relevant accounting standards. This involves integrating financial data from diverse entities and subsidiaries while adhering to regulatory requirements. This role will collaborate with internal stakeholders, which is essential to verifying data accuracy, implementing internal controls, and enhancing consolidation procedures for efficiency. The role will also entail providing guidance to finance teams to uphold transparency and financial integrity across the organization’s reporting practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare the yearly consolidated financial statements for BRAC, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting policies and regulatory standards.
  • Produce monthly consolidated financial statements and management reports for BRAC, incorporating variance analysis to provide comprehensive insights.
  • Prepare monthly, annual, and periodic financial statements and consolidate all BRAC social enterprises, SPA, BRAC ZCB, and Shutripti.
  • Work closely with external auditors, furnishing required documentation and clarifications to facilitate the statutory audit process for BRAC.
  • Collaborate with enterprise accounts, the tax function, and head office accounts to ensure precise and timely reporting; also, prepare and monitor the month-closing calendar.
  • Perform monthly reviews and analyses of accounts, pinpointing areas that need correction or updates.
  • Reconcile fund control and adjustments, and examine various general ledger reconciliations to verify reporting accuracy.
  • Prepare the reconciliation report of grants, donor funds received in advance, fixed assets, and other schedules for the annual account.
  • Communicate with different programs, auditors, and departmental functions within the organization for successful delivery of the role.
  • Maintain coordination with programs/departments for clarification on the monthly variance and actively exchange views to ensure smooth reporting and development.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.
