  • B.Sc.Ag. (Hons.)/ MS in Agriculture/Agronomy/ Horticulture/ Plant Pathology/ Entomology/ Soil Science etc. or any other relevant subject from any recognised university

Experience

Additional Requirements

Experience Requirement: Minimum 5 years of overall experiences in development sector including Agriculture/ climate change. Experiences and skill in advocacy and working with the Local Government Institutions or any relevant field.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Capacity building of the team members
  • Maintain close communication with BRAC Climate Change Programme (CCP)
  • Maintain relationship with other BRAC programmes in the project sites.
  • Conduct essential survey and knowledge product development.

Managing Adaptation Clinic of the Programme to provide technical solutions to the farmers and contribute to increase farmers crop production and income, through extending climate adaptive agriculture to the farmer’s field

Job Description:

  • Planning, executing and managing the adaptation clinic component of the programme to address technical solutions for the farmers immediate problems and long-term climatic challenges.
  • Providing necessary technical support on crop management including cropping plan, disease, pest and fertilizer management at farmer’s field.
  • Preparation of technical training module on crop production technologies and provide training and orientation to the programme participants.
  • Support programme development team in designing climate adaptive agriculture interventions for the smallholder farmers to increase yield, income and resilience.
  • Promote agri- mechanisation and improved storage facilities both in community and household level.
  • Participatory, site-specific mapping, beneficiary selection, and mobilization of community-based management structures for climate-adaptive agricultural solutions.
  • Strengthening climate resilient value chains and market linkages for alternative, resilient livelihoods.
  • Establish and maintain a quality liaison and coordinate with local, regional and national level stakeholders.
  • Supervision and Monitoring of the project activities related to the project outputs and outcomes.
  • Bringing innovations to the farmers’ field to make them resilient to climate change impacts.
  • Conducting socio-economic study on adoption of best practices and evaluation of climate smart technology at farmers’ field.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
