Responsibilities & Context

JMI Industrial Gas Ltd., one of the most promising, dynamic business conglomerates in Bangladesh, covers sectors like medical devices, pharmaceuticals, health care services, real estate, printing & packaging, home appliances, primary energy (LPG) including the extended value chain of LPG sectors like LPG cylinders, auto tank, etc.

JMI Industrial Gas Limited (JIGL), a flagship strategic business unit of JMI Group engages in the import, bottling & distribution of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as well as Ethylene Oxide (EO) Gas.

JMI Industrial Gas Ltd. is uniquely poised to cater to the demand of the country and has the surplus capacity to export to overseas markets. We are looking for self-motivated individuals for an immediate appointment, who will look after Occupational Health & Safety to expedite business.

1. HSE Compliance & Regulatory Affairs:

Ensure compliance with national and international HSE regulations (DIFE, DoE, BS11, NFP A, OISD, etc.).
Liaise with regulatory bodies for necessary licenses, audits, and inspections.
Maintain and update HSE policies in accordance with legal and industry standards.
Prepare reports and documentation for government agencies and internal audits.
2. Safety & Risk Management:
Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies, procedures, and SOPs for LPG receiving, storage, bottling, and distribution operations.
Conduct hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA) for plant operations.
Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents, providing corrective and preventive action plans.
Implement and oversee Permit to Work (PTW) systems for high-risk activities.
Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) standards.
3. Environmental Protection & Sustainability:
Monitor environmental compliance, including emissions, waste management, and pollution control.
Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to minimize environmental impact.
Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) as required.
4. Training & Awareness:
Organize regular safety drills, emergency response training, and awareness programs.
Train employees and contractors on HSE best practices, PPE usage, and fire safety.
Promote a strong safety culture by engaging employees through toolbox talks and HSE meetings.
5. Emergency Response & Crisis Management:
Develop and maintain emergency response plans and fire safety protocols.
Ensure fire-fighting equipment and emergency systems are operational and regularly inspected.
Act as the Incident Commander during emergencies and conduct post-incident analysis.
6. Contractor & Vendor Safety Management:
Ensure all contractors comply with JMI LPG’s HSE policies and requirements
Conduct pre-qualification safety audits for vendors and contractors.
Monitor contractor safety performance and provide necessary training and supervision.
