Requirements

Education

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in development sector. At least 3 years of experience in development programmes with a focus on communication or social and behavioral change communication. Demonstrated experience in managing social media including web portals for branding and position development organisation(s)
  • Knowledge on safeguarding issues, policies, priorities and programmes in the context of Bangladesh.
  • Understanding of strategic and technical aspects in Training, Risk Management and Communications.
  • Demonstrable knowledge, experience and capabilities relating to design new communication materials and implementing safeguarding promotion actions.
  • Skills in strategic thinking, computer skilled in power point presentation, excel and report writing
  • Creative; result oriented; decisive; team player; self-motivated.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Deputy Manager, Safeguarding and PSEA is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating safeguarding training and awareness programmes across Humanitarian Crisis Management Programme, BRAC. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of safeguarding and preventing harm to vulnerable populations
  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate safeguarding and PSEA training for staff, volunteers, and programme participants. Implement evaluation mechanisms to enhance training quality.
  • Conduct interactive awareness sessions, design and implement safeguarding and PSEA campaigns, and create IEC/BCC materials to promote a culture of safety.
  • Conduct field/camp/different location visits to assess safeguarding risks, prepare mitigation plan, track the implementation and support Safeguarding Champions, and contribute to policy/SOP development.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare regular reports, and contribute to the development of standardized safeguarding and PSEA materials.
  • Engage with staff, volunteers, and programme participants to understand their needs and tailor training accordingly.
  • Develop an annual training plan, conduct safeguarding and PSEA awareness campaigns, and promote knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute ideas to improve training design and delivery, staying updated on safeguarding trends and best practices.
  • Provide ongoing support and resources to different sectors, support functions and Safeguarding Champions/focal points, acting as a point of contact for safeguarding training inquiries.
  • Monitor the utilization of communication materials, conduct follow-up sessions, and assess the effectiveness of safeguarding activities. Support the Manager, Safeguarding and PSEA-HCMP to maintain the coordination among different forum and network.
  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organization and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
