  • Proven assessment, planning and intervention skills.
  • Practical skills on community counselling.
  • Good communication and facilitation skills with different stakeholders.
  • Basic computer skills (MS office package- both in English and Bangla).
  • Competent on independent individualised comprehensive intensive psychosocial assessment, plan and intervention.
  • Hands on competency on self-esteem building, community counselling, carrier counselling etc.
  • Facilitate the capacity building training session and referral.

JOB PURPOSE

To contribute to the sustainable graduation processes of the targeted ultra-poor persons with disability of respective region through planning and designing enabling technical intervention for them on the basis of Psycho-Social Assessment (PSA), enhancing their enterprise related skills, life skills and self-esteem as well as ensuring access of people with disabilities to different services through proper referrals and providing capacity development and technical support to the frontline staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate identification of ultra-poor people with disabilities, conduct Psycho-Social Assessment (PSA) to identify their psycho-social support needs to design enabling interventions.
  • Plan and conduct individual, family and group counseling sessions, particularly related to motivation of participants including people with disabilities for entry or continuation in employment, with regular follow up, based on a prioritisation system.
  • Raise awareness at community level on psycho-social issues and advocate towards local government and other stakeholders, in collaboration with Disabled People’s Organisations, for the inclusion of selected participants including people with disabilities within different physical and mental health and other socio-economic development programmes in the working area.
  • Contribute to the preparation of participants follow-up plan, business plans and rehabilitation plans in collaboration with the Programme Organiser and Rehabilitation Officers, based on the psycho-social needs of the person with a disability.
  • Build capacity on Disability Inclusion among all field staffs.
  • Conduct participative staff capacity assessments for UPG programme and develop a capacity building plan on disability-inclusive ultra-poverty graduation model.
  • Support to design/revision of training packages and facilitate training sessions on inclusive livelihood topics for UPG staff, community people and other stakeholders (face-to-face trainings remote trainings, e-learnings, etc.).
  • Coordinate with UPG programme to ensure referral of people with disabilities to basic health centers and specialised service providers, promoting quality services that address needs, and ensure follow up of those referrals.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the other technical, operational and support departments of BRAC according to the needs.
  • Support inputs to all-inclusive livelihood reporting needs (including field reporting).
  • Contribute to the monthly/quarterly situation report by providing relevant information and data to the Senior Analysts.
  • Maintain and update participant files related to psychosocial assessments, plans, case studies and progress updates.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
