Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 05 years of general experience in planning, design, monitoring, operation/maintenance and implementation of WASH projects.
- Experiences in conducting needs assessments to identify water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) requirements.
- Experiences in overseeing the construction and rehabilitation of water supply systems (e.g., wells, boreholes, pipelines).
- Experience in working in the Rohingya camps will be given preference; 3 years of team leadership experience in supervising water supply projects particularly in camp context.
- Knowledge on program design and project cycle management
- Ability to communicate with local level stakeholders including government departments, local govt. and civil society organizations and international donors.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good interpersonal skills and must be a team player.
- Performance management and staff development skills
- Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills in English & Bengali.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Job Requirements:
- Capable to design, drawing and estimate Water and Sanitation infrastructures independently
- Substantial experience in operations management in the Rohingya Camps areas and international donor communication.
- Good knowledge of water and sanitation issues in low income camp setting, and hygiene practice at community level.
- Good knowledge of community mobilization and sanitizations and skills transfer.
- Technical knowledge regarding water and sanitation options for camp and host communities’ areas
- Knowledge about civil, painting and plumbing works
- Excellent computer skills in packages including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently and within a team;
- Highly motivated and willingness to travel across the country, participate in meetings even during weekends as and when necessary.

Responsibilities & Context
ANANDO is a reputed national non-government organization working in Bangladesh since 1997 and the goal is the reduction of poverty by addressing sustainable livelihood development, women empowerment, climate change, water and sanitation, skill development, promotion of enterprise, and peacebuilding. ANANDO Programs are implemented in 8 districts (Tangail, Cox’s Bazer, Khagrachari, Gazipur, Jamalpur, Rangamati, Satkhira, and Chittagong) through 23 Projects/Branch Offices of which 16 offices are own establishment. At present the total beneficiaries of ANANDO is 56,334 households (Individuals: 296,344) of which more than 70% of beneficiaries are female. ANANDO is seeking application for the post of Deputy Program Coordinator-WASH.
Objectives of the position:
The Deputy Program Coordinator-WASH is a senior staff of ANANDO and member of management Team. He/she assists the Management in overseeing and managing all WASH program. He/She may be responsible for managing and coordinating all the activities at the field level and provide technical guidance on the design, construction and maintenance of water supply and sanitation facilities. Develop concept note and preparing regular reports on the progress of the program for the management and other stakeholders. He/She will be responsible of Anando’s total WASH Program.
Job Description / Responsibility:
- Technical Support: Assist for drawings & specifications in preparation of subcontractor scope. Identify and support implementation of demand based (Camps and host communities) WASH/infrastructure technologies and interventions.
- Project Management: Ensure quality control of the WASH infrastructure development related work (budget, estimate, schedule, plans, worker’s performance) and report regularly on project status. Review engineering/project deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
- Field Team Management: He/She may be responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of the program team members in consultation with Head of Program. This could involve assigning tasks, providing guidance and support, and ensuring that team members are working effectively towards program objectives.
- Communication and Coordination: Acting as a liaison between different stakeholders involved in the program, including international donor communication, team members, management and other departments within the organization. They ensure effective communication and coordination among all parties involved.
- Field Activities Monitoring: He/She plays a key role in monitoring the progress of the program and evaluating its effectiveness. Regularly conduct the field monitoring visit that involves tracking key performance indicators, analyzing data, and identifying areas for improvement with the coordination of MEAL Manager and Head of Program.
- Problem Solving: Addressing any issues or challenges that arise during the course of the program. This could involve resolving conflicts within the team, overcoming logistical hurdles, or adapting to changes in the program’s environment with the consultation with the Executive Director and Head of Programs.
- Budget Management: Assisting in the management of the program budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and that expenditures are within budgetary constraints.
- Risk Management: Identifying potential risks to the success of the program and implementing strategies to mitigate them. This could include developing contingency plans and monitoring external factors that could impact the program.
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring that the program meets quality standards and adheres to relevant regulations and guidelines. He/She may be involved in implementing quality control measures and conducting audits or reviews to assess program performance.
- Proposal Development and Reporting: Assist the team for concept note and proposal development. Preparing regular reports on the progress of the program for management and other stakeholders. This could include summarizing key achievements, challenges, and recommendations for future actions.
Immediate supervisor: Executive Director in coordination with Head of Programs and Head of Finance
Contract period: Permanent position (core staff of Head Office)

Compensation & Other Benefits
Monthly Gross Salary: Tk. 85,000. – (more salary may offer for deserving candidate)
