Requirements

Education

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance & Banking
  • Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) or equivalent FCMA qualification.

Experience

  • 15 to 20 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
    Manufacturing (FMCG), Trading or Export/Import, Group of Companies

Additional Requirements

  • Age at most 55 years
  • Prior experience in a Japanese or experience managing Japanese stakeholders is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, International Accounting Standards, Companies Act, Taxation, and Transfer Pricing
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and financial modeling
  • Cultural sensitivity and experience in Japanese business etiquette and communication style
  • Strategic financial leadership with a deep understanding of cross-border finance

Responsibilities & Context

  • Financial Strategy & Planning:
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning aligned with overall corporate strategy and growth objectives.
  • Deliver strategic financial insights and scenario-based analysis to support executive decision-making, resource allocation, and performance optimization.
  • Financial Reporting & Accounting:
  • Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and ensure accuracy in general ledger, P&L, and balance sheet reporting.
  • Collaborate with regional and Japan headquarters to ensure timely group-level consolidation, disclosures, and regulatory reporting.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
  • Ensure enterprise-wide compliance with all applicable statutory regulations, including GST, income tax, transfer pricing, FEMA, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Lead and coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely documentation, issue resolution, and full regulatory adherence.
  • Develop and oversee robust risk management practices, credit controls, and corporate governance frameworks to safeguard organizational integrity and financial sustainability.
  • Taxation & Transfer Pricing:
  • Lead strategic tax planning and compliance across direct and indirect taxes, including oversight of filings, assessments, audits, and litigation management
  • Ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations, managing intercompany transactions in alignment with global tax policies and group guidelines.
  • Treasury & Working Capital Management:
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, hedging strategies, and investment planning to optimize liquidity and financial stability.
  • Monitor working capital cycles and improve efficiency in receivables, payables, and inventory management.
  • Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the finance and accounts team for high performance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, procurement, HR, and regional/global finance teams to drive business alignment
  • Present financial strategies, risks, and performance updates to the Board, senior leadership, and key stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making at the highest level.
