Requirements
Education
- Bachelor degree in any discipline, Masters degree in any discipline, Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) in Social Science, Master of Social Science (MSS) in Social Science, Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) in Development Studies, Master of Social Science (MSS) in Development Studies
- Masters/bachelor degree preferably in Social Science/Development Studies and any discipline.
Experience
- At least 5 years
Additional Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in implementation of the democracy and local governance project/s at grassroots, particularly in the area of local government expertise and women empowerment.
- Should have good knowledge of overall program design, implementation including staff development and financial management, advocacy, designing and conducting the training and workshop/seminars at different levels.
- Should have previous experience of supervision, monitoring and reporting as per Performance Monitoring Indicators.
- Excellent computer operation skills including Microsoft excel, word, email and internet browsing.
- Good interpersonal skills, has demonstrated proactive roles in team work and must have good writing and speaking skill on English.

Khan Foundation is seeking applications from competent, dynamic and experienced candidates under “Voices of Change: Empowering Citizens for inclusive Governance, Social Justice and Gender Equality” Project for the following position:
Job Descriptions (JDs) of key full-time project staff:
Position (Title) District Project Officer
Duty Station: District Office
Duration: 30 Months
Reporting Person: S/she will be responsible for reporting to the Project Coordinator.
Job Location: Project Working Areas (Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Natore, Naogaon District)
Job Summary:
The District Project Officer (DPO) will be responsible for planning, implementation and monitoring of the activities at the district level. One of the major responsibilities of the District Project Officer is; ensuring qualitative project implementation in line with project output/outcomes and efficient resources management. Also, s/he would involve the community level planning and implementation of this project at district level.
S/he will also be responsible for the management and capacity development, supervision of staff and coordination with Donor and other PNGOs. S/he will have to take special initiative to mainstream the theme of equality & inclusion, disability and gender in project implementation.
The specific responsibilities and tasks are summarized below.
Responsibilities and tasks:
Coordinate effective project planning including budget of respective project area:
- Prepare annual work plan and budget (AWP&B) including event calendar in the district in which s/he will be operating.
- Responsible for overall planning of the project in line with output and outcomes ensuring participation of all stakeholders in the process.
Effective and efficient management of project:
- Participate in and facilitate different trainings, workshop and meeting at the local level.
- Ensure optimum use of project resources and make resources available for smooth operation of project.
- Supervise and monitor the activities of the project personnel.
- Maintaining liaison and sharing the information with the local government institute, associations, administration and public service provider.
- Maintaining working relation with Donor implemented projects at district level.
Project Implementation, monitoring, problem solving and decision making:
- Coordinate with the stakeholders in implementing the project activities.
- Reporting the achievement and results per activities as per project requirements.
- Coordinate progress, process and output monitoring and ensure follow on actions basis on the monitoring findings and keep update the management accordingly.
Contributing in Advocacy and Policy making:
- Prepare advocacy strategy and support networks at local level.
- Develop policy papers/brief and assist in conducting research/study and organize seminars/dialogue/meeting at district level.
- Support the day-to-day operation of the Advocacy team including but not limited to preparing presentations, reports and correspondence.
Compensation & Other Benefits
Two festival bonuses equivalent to one month’s basic salary for each will be paid after successful completion of 3 months’ probation period.
Costs in relation to any field work will be borne by the organization.
