Responsibilities & Context

  • Serves as the primary hospital administrator, plays a crucial role in Inpatient & Outpatient Services Departments, Supervises, and Coordinates and monitors the health care provided in the departments to promote efficient and effective delivery of quality health care.
  • Ensure a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at the hospital.
  • Responsible for handling emergency medical cases in the hospital and support patients & relatives with all service & medical information they need for better decisions taken.
  • Plan for the consultants list for all specialties to make sure all shifts are covered and no case of emergency occur.
  • Ensure compliance for all physicians and take corrective actions if any shifts dropped accordingly.
  • Ensure all new patient admissions are fitting hospital admission criteria.
  • Take all appropriate measures to ensure best utilization for all hospital facilities, services, bed management.
  • Support patients’ attendants with solutions for cash collection methods with respect to hospitals’ regulation.
  • Conduct routine and regular rounds to inspect on the quality of services rendered from different facilities and make sure compliance to hospital dress code, manners of all staff.
  • Provides direction and control over all Inpatients & Outpatient departments activities during assigned period.
  • Communicates with insurance company’s approval office regarding any insurance patient or finance for cash issues.
  • Communicates with other healthcare services for transfer patients from or to DMHL.
  • Takes immediate actions with lifesaving cases admitted in Emergency Department after medical justification from the treatment physician.
  • Coordinate with security department to Reporting traffic accidents brought to hospital, suspicion of the patient’s condition and Confirmed suicide attempt to MOI.
  • Frequently communicate with Medical Service Director, Chief Executive Officer, Departments Heads, Medical Staff of Inpatient & Outpatient Services, other Departments Directors and staff hospital-wide to coordinate health care management and to implement hospital policies and procedures as needed.
  • Have also frequent contacts with patients and their families to solve problems and assure their satisfaction with patient care.
  • Makes rounds at all Outpatient floors, Emergency department and Inpatients wards to assure  proper healthcare to satisfy patients’ needs, solving their problems also to enforce practice of hospital policies including visits hours, Infection control guidelines, Transport of patient.
  • Directs the personnel functions of staff, keeping Medical Service Director and Chief Executive Officer informed of inpatient service activities in the assigned period.
  • Observe the work activities of the staff; ensure scheduling of the staff meet work requirement.
  • Supervises the work in inpatient department, ensures adherence to the laws, rules and regulations of the hospital with awareness that work performed is in keeping with established standards of accreditations of the hospital.
  • Reviewing availability and have the authority to allocate beds for patients according to waiting lists for admission and room transfer needs.
  • Receiving the complaints and comments of patients and companions from inside and outside the hospital and making immediate suitable procedures to solve any problem if needed.
  • Receiving the external telephone calls that need performance of administrative procedures, and receiving VIP visitors and offering all possible facilities to them.
  • Supervising the ambulance services to transport patients and the accompanying doctors or nurses if needed.
  • Be performed any other duty assigned by the superior from time to time.
