  • At least 2 to 3 years experience in the community nutrition program (camp experience prefers)·
  •  Motivation to work in the humanitarian field·
  • A strong interest in working with nutrition, women and childcare, psychological and psychosocial support, and communities is required.·
  •  Good knowledge of child and/or adult development·
  •  Knowledge and experience of early childhood care and development (ECCD) programs and techniques, theory, and practice·
  • Good command of at least one psychotherapeutic approach – Training and case management aptitudes·
  • Knowledge of humanitarian MHPSS

Responsibilities & Context

Mission context

GK was created in 1972 with two visions. Firstly, “the fate of the poor decides fate of the country”. Secondly, “development of the country depends on development of women”. Since July, 2024, Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) and UNICEF have entered in a partnership to respond to the Rohingya crisis.

Role Profile

The ECCD and MHPSS Supervisor (Clinical Psychologist) will be responsible for providing technical support to the ECCD and MHPSS counsellors, supervise, feedback and organize training. To evaluate work of ECCD and MHPSS counsellors and ensure the field monitoring and evaluation of the project and data collection, produce reports, assessments and analysis. To maintain coordination and collaboration with GoB and other NGOs and INGOs, which are working in ECCD and MHPSS area is an important role for this position. S/He will be responsible to perform other activities requested by his/her supervisor based on project need.

Overall responsibilities: 

  • Provide support, supervise, and evaluate the work of the ECCD & MHPSS Counselors through weekly supervision meetings.
  • Analyse and approve the report of the ECCD & MHPSS Counselors.
  •  Assist in recruiting and training the ECCD & psychosocial team, and set up and ensure a coherent and sufficient curriculum of training with very close supervision on the field.
  • To contribute to the definition of new modalities of intervention according to context and program evolution in the camps.
  •  Provide technical support to the teams when collecting information on the needs of the beneficiaries in the field of mental health.
  • Ensure constant Monitoring & Evaluation of the ECCD & MHPSS component (staff performance, data collection, and analysis) in the working location (significant field presence is expected).
  • Supervise and evaluate the impact of the activities delegated by the Deputy Programme Manager·
  • Contribute and participate in writing the program’s monthly activity report.
  •  Manage monitoring and evaluation systems for the ECCD & MHPSS component and come up with a database of beneficiaries (ease of use of technology is expected).
  •  Coordinate with different departments and stakeholders working in ECCD and MHPSS and participate in different internal and external meetings.
  •  Reports on a weekly basis about activities planned, and implemented and ensure the monthly reports (statistics and narrative) from the field are on time and also the drafting of activity progress report (APR)·
  •  Ensure daily quantitative and qualitative reporting through the tools (assessment form, follow-up form, group activity reporting tool, discharge form that includes the final assessment of the beneficiary’s psychosocial status) and
  • In formal and informal meetings with the team, participate in a qualitative analysis of the different kinds of issues, at individual, family, and community levels
  •   Conduct individual clinical interviews when necessary and as part of on-the-job training for ECCD and MHPSS Counselors.
  •    Conduct group discussions with the beneficiaries as part of on-the-job training of ECCD and MHPSS Counselor.·
  •    Contribute to the elaboration and respect of logistics and administrative procedures

  • Carry out any additional assignment per her/his position entrusted with the GK Management from time to time and mutually agreed upon.

  • Due to the emergency response nature of GK’s work, hours of work may vary, and employees should be flexible in approaching hours of work in emergency conditions.·
  •   The employee must respect the timetable, terms, and conditions of Gonoshasthaya Kendra and should always be available to respond to an emergency.
