Responsibilities & Context

The Employee Welfare Officer will be responsible for implementing and overseeing employee welfare programs, ensuring compliance with the Bangladesh Labor Law 2006 and latest amendments, and providing support to employees regarding welfare-related issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of labor laws, excellent interpersonal skills, and a genuine interest in employee well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all employee welfare provisions outlined in the Bangladesh Labor Law 2006 and latest amendments.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor welfare programs that support the physical, emotional, and financial well-being of employees.
  • Act as a point of contact for employees seeking advice or assistance with welfare-related matters.
  • Organize and conduct regular welfare activities, health and safety programs, and awareness sessions.
  • Collaborate with management to address and resolve any welfare issues or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of welfare activities, employee grievances, and resolutions.
  • Conduct workplace inspections to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Liaise with external agencies and organizations for welfare-related services and support.
  • Prepare reports and documentation related to employee welfare for management review.
  • Develop and implement innovative employee wellness programs and initiatives.
  • Plan and organize wellness events, workshops, and seminars.
  • Provide education and resources on nutrition, fitness, stress management, and other wellness topics.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of wellness programs, making adjustments as needed.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees seeking guidance and support on wellness-related issues.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in employee wellness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Social Work, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing or industrial sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Bangladesh Labor Law 2006 and latest amendments
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with employees at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software.
  • Thorough understanding of employee reward and engagement
