Responsibilities & Context
- Database Administration: Perform day-to-day health checks, monitoring, and troubleshooting (L1/L2) of data platforms (MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, etc.).
- Cross-Functional Support: Act as the first point of contact for incident resolution, collaborating with Data Science, IT Governance, and external vendors.
- Platform Maintenance: Implement security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Project Involvement: Assist in solution design, installation, configuration, and testing of new data platform technologies.
- Vendor Coordination: Engage with OEMs (Cloudera, Scylla DB, Elasticsearch, DataStax) to resolve issues and apply fixes in production environments.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of system performance, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and SLA adherence.
