Responsibilities & Context
Job Context: The Executive / Assistant Manager – Material, Design Lab plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective management of materials from sample creation to commercialization. This position involves working closely with the procurement, production, and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) teams to create a seamless integration and reconciliation of processes, ensuring materials are sourced, managed, and utilized efficiently.
Job Responsibilities:
- Sample material sourcing & communicate with Supplier & Buyer to meet the desire standard.
- Product cost reduction through use indigenous materials as alternative.
- Product engineering tech sheet & tech pack input through OMS & IFS.
- Follow up with Product Management, Sample Development, Commercialization, MRP, Procurement & Production teams as well as make a smooth reconciliation bridge among them.
- Ensure maximum use of existing tooling (Last, knife, die, outsoles, machine, molds, & related machines and tools).
- Optimizing inventory through variety reduction and other resources.
- Standardizing & maximizing common material for development.
- Setup and monitor target for team & arrange monthly review meeting with the MRP team for swatch collection, inventory values and relevant tasks.
