Requirements
Education
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Textile Engineering
- BSc in Textile Engineering / Apparel Manufacturing or relevant subject from any reputed university.
Experience
- 2 to 5 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments
Additional Requirements
- Age At least 26 years
- Prior experience in Knit garment cutting is preferable.
- Excellent communication (written/verbal) & presentation skills.
- Strong analytical & leadership ability and work as a strategic thinker.
- Positive work ethics and result oriented for assigned responsibilities.
- Self-driven to work under pressure and self-motivated to take new initiatives.
- Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships and good team work.
Responsibilities & Context
Planning & Coordination
- Review daily production plan and cutting orders received from Planning/IE/Merchandising teams.
- Allocate manpower, machines, and resources in the cutting section for smooth workflow.
- Ensure timely supply of cut panels to sewing lines as per production schedule.
Fabric & Marker Management
- Check fabric width, shrinkage, shade, and defects before issuing for cutting.
- Ensure marker efficiency and fabric utilization to minimize wastage.
- Monitor fabric relaxation, shrinkage tests, and lay planning.
Cutting Operations
- Supervise fabric spreading, marker placement, and cutting operations (manual/auto).
- Ensure correct bundling, numbering, and panel segregation.
- Monitor precision in cutting quality and check against approved samples.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to buyer specifications and quality standards.
- Check shade grouping, ply numbering, and panel accuracy before issuing to sewing.
- Maintain proper record-keeping for cut panels, fabric consumption, and wastage.
Team & Communication
- Guide and train cutting operators, helpers, and QC team members.
- Communicate with Planning, Merchandising, and Sewing departments to avoid production delays.
- Report discrepancies (fabric shortage, defects, width variation, etc.) to higher management.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain daily cutting report, fabric consumption report, and balance stock.
- Monitor and report wastage, end bits, and leftover fabric.
- Assist management in improving process efficiency and cost control
