Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Food Engineering/ Chemistry/ Biochemistry.

Experience

  • At least 3 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
    Manufacturing (FMCG), Food (Packaged)/Beverage, Group of Companies, Bakery (Cake, Biscuit, Bread)

Additional Requirements

  • Candidates with prior experience in product development for biscuits, cookies, or similar bakery items will be given preference.
  • Sound knowledge of food science, formulation processes, and ingredient functionality in bakery products.
  • Practical knowledge of packaging materials and technologies used in food products, including foil and carton design, etc.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Assist in developing new Biscuits and Cookies formulations to create innovative and market-driven products.
  • Conduct product trials with new formulas based on consumer trends & target samples and assist in modifications to enhance margins and improve productivity by optimizing costs.
  • Organize sensory evaluations, gather feedback from taste panels and incorporate necessary changes into product formulations.
  • Assist in reviewing food ingredients, developing product recipes and organizing sensory evaluations to meet customer needs.
  • Coordinate daily lab activities related to product development, including testing and analysis.
  • Assist in packaging development work, including foil, carton, and label measurements and preparing product drawings.
  • Assist in conducting nutritional analysis and calculations for new products to ensure accurate labeling on final packaging.
  • Conduct shelf-life studies, monitor product quality and make necessary adjustments to maintain standards.
  • Coordinate with production teams to facilitate the commercial launch of new products.
  • Update and organize product related documentation such as work instructions, analysis methods, specifications, recipes, ingredient lists, nutritional facts etc.
  • Check regulatory aspects during product development to meet food safety and legal requirements.
  • Prepare different types of reports on product development activities such as New product trial reports, Shelf-life study reports, Nutritional analysis reports, Costing and margin analysis reports etc. and submit to immediate supervisor.
