Requirements

Education

Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as social science, information management, statistics or project management

Experience

• At least 5 years

Additional Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in relevant positions with INGOs
• Experience in data analysis.
• Experience in developing proposals, concept notes, designing assessments, feedback & complaint response mechanisms, studies, impact evaluations, and lessons learned
• Ability to anticipate and perceive the impact and implications of future decisions and activities on other parts of the organization
• Excellent knowledge of MEAL processes and standards across the project management cycle and sectors
• Evaluates data and courses of action to reach logical, pragmatic decisions. Takes an unbiased, rational approach with calculated risks. Applies innovation and creativity to problem-solving.
• Expresses ideas or facts in a clear, concise and open manner. Communication indicates a consideration for the feelings and needs of others. Actively listens and proactively shares knowledge. Handles conflict effectively, by overcoming differences of opinion and finding common ground
• Builds and maintains strong external relationships and is a competent partner for others
• Excellent verbal and written communication, team management & planning skills
• Willingness to obtain necessary vaccinations to work in Welthungerhilfe’s programme countries
• Excellent spoken and written English; Bangla and/or any other South Asian skills would be an asset
• Regional experience in South Asia would be an advantage

Responsibilities & Context

Job Summary:

As MEAL Expert, you will guide the country teams and implementing partners in three countries (Bangladesh, Nepal, and India) for two regional projects – Green Evolution (Agro-Ecology) and a potential Nutrition project – in MEAL standards according to Welthungerhilfe Policy and Procedures. You will also provide expert advice on the implementation and development of programs as well as projects based on the regional and sectoral portfolio. While maintaining a clear focus on accountability, you will ensure that meaningful learning and knowledge management supports programme planning and implementation, as well as adaptive management in a highly dynamic context.

Functional Responsibilities

MEAL Oversight

• Continual development, implementation, and updating of an effective MEAL system that promotes accountability to the partners, communities, and beneficiaries;
• You will develop and align with MEAL Framework in order to generate data for results measurements and impact assessments;
• You will identify meaningful achievements and focus on learning for programme management;
• You will ensure programmes’ MEAL arrangements are collaborative and responsive to partner information and management requirements;
• Ensuring that MEAL activities and processes are conflict-sensitive and adhere to Do No Harm principles;
• Ensuring/promoting coordination and clear communication across the partners, including the programme, communications, and operations
• teams.
