Requirements

Education

HSC/BA (Pass) or equivalent.

Additional Requirements

• Previous work experience in coastal areas

• Hands-on experience working directly with farmers, preferably in rural or semi-rural settings.

• Previous work experience in climate smart agriculture

• Experience in delivering courtyard meeting, Farmer Field school training sessions or demonstrations on agricultural practices.

Responsibilities & Context

ROLE PURPOSE

ANANDO is inviting applications for the position of Extension Worker/Field Officer, who will undertake the project’s field-level and community engagement-related activities, under the supervision of the Project Manager of ANANDO. The position holder will be based in Satkhira district.

The Extension Worker/Field Officer is expected to ensure that community engagement, mobilization, awareness buidling, and field-level activities including agriculture and livelihood activities are planned and carried out in accordance with a detailed implementation plan and budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Field Workers/ Extension worker are the front-line workers who mobilize all sorts of social works with the grassroots beneficiaries

• Field Workers/Extension Worker will be responsible organizing the group/samity, conducting fortnightly issue-based dialogue sessions

• Provide technical support on homestead gardening like – sack gardening, kite gardening, rhizome basket ready compost, grafting & budding mixed cropping seasonal vegetable etc.

• Conduct Resilience Farmer Field School (CRFFS) sessions and value chain development.

• Conduct the mass awareness on hygiene promotion, mitigate gender-based violence, climate change, gender discrimination, dowery, child marriage, and child labor

• Technical support to Income Generating and agro based activities of targeted beneficiaries.

• Assist the pro support for climate-smart and nutrition-sensitive homestead gardening and rooftop gardening (Urban & Rural)

• Promote Integrating Agrimax business model with homestead gardening

• Assist Training Officer and Agriculture & livestock officer to organise and conduct training.

• Aware and motivate target beneficiaries for vaccination of their animals, introducing with demonstration and new trial set, letting them attend different training and other issue-based adoption in the community.

• Ensure agricultural activities, create alternative livelihoods opportunity and crop diversification by applying improve technologies. Organize vaccination camp, supervise & monitor to local services providers (PLEW, Agriculture & fishery extension workers and AI technicians)

• Increase community awareness on climate resilience adaption; ensure emergency response on any natural disaster or hazards.

• Prepare monthly MIS, case studies, learning, challenges and submit to Project Manager in time.

• Provide technical support on homestead gardening like – sack gardening, kite gardening, rhizome basket ready compost, grafting & budding mixed cropping seasonal vegetable etc.

• Training and input support for climate-smart and nutrition-sensitive homestead gardening and rooftop gardening (Urban & Rural)

• Promote Integrating Agrimax business model with homestead gardening

• Provide training capacity and skill building training to the Resource Farmers (RF), Livestock Service Provider (LSP) and extension worker.

• Promoting scale up community garden, village model farm with nursery (Urban & Rural)

• Technical support to the farmers/owners of demonstration firm.

• Establishes Climate Resilience Farmer Field School (CRFFS), conduct sessions and value chain development.

• Develop module for several agriculture and livestock related training

• Organize and facilitate several agro based training and workshop,

• Close coordination with Govt. Agriculture and livestock department.

• Your day to day activities supervise by Project Manager

• Assist Project Manager in any other issue.
