Experience Requirements:

  • At-least 5- 6 years of job experience preferably in the field of agriculture marketing, agriculture insurance, agro-industries & input, agriculture value chains & market systems development, and agri-finance with any renowned NGOs, MFIs, companies or donor projects.

Additional Requirements:

  • Agriculture Insurance experience is strongly preferred, experience and skills in formation of farmers groups, conduct need based assessment, follow up farmer’s practices in crop production.
  • Strong communication skills and dealing with private, public, NGO sector in agriculture;
  • Experience in collecting field data, monitoring and prepare project reports;
  • Good computer skills on MS Office (word, excel, power point) and emailing.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English and Bangla.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills: ability to work in a team; and achieve the targets and deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to drive motorcycle and must have a valid driving license.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Description/ Responsibilities:

  • Ensure project implementation is on time; coordinate, manage, monitor and support field team for facilitating project activities effectively and efficiently.
  • Prepare implementation plan, schedule consultation with project team and implementation partners, searching outside farmers group for involving agriculture insurance (Crop, Livestock and Fisheries) activities.
  • Manage and assist day to day project activities: delivery of agriculture insurance products; awareness creation activities for smallholders; capacity building of field teams; manage pilot-testing; deliveries of support services (e.g., agricultural inputs, weather information, market linkage, etc.) to the smallholders.
  • Maintain liaison with the project partners, public and private entities representative at field level.
  • Build strong relationships with relevant private sector and other like-minded projects for enrolling farmers in agriculture insurance products (Crop, Livestock and Fisheries).
  • Prepare FGD survey reports, conduct training & workshops in the field.
  • Continues field visit and monitor assigned areas and extension officers’ work; Provide regular feedback to Extension Officer for capacity improvement.
  • Manage project expenses and control over finance and admin at field level.
  • Support project team in planning, designing, reviewing project activities, and providing input/ recommendations for further improvement and taking new initiatives.
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
  • Generate enrollment and sales report and showcase success stories.
  • Any other specific areas of responsibility shall be assigned from time to time by the manager and BRAC Head Office Team.
