Experience

  • At least 3 years

Additional Requirements

  • At least 03 years working experience in community mobilization, stakeholder engagement, disaster risk reduction and emergency response issues. Experiences may be relaxed for a highly qualified person
  • Ability to communicate in the local dialect (Chattogram Dialect).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including marginalized communities, technical experts, and local authorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities & Context

Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) <www.ypsa.org> is an organization for sustainable development working in greater Chattogram division since 1985. YPSA is implementing a project on “Anticipatory Action for landslides causing displacement for communities in Chattogram Districts in Bangladesh” in partnership with Save the Children. YPSA is inviting application from the experienced professionals with proven track record for the following position for the Project.

Job Title: Field Facilitator

Job location: Chattogram and Banshkhali Upazila

Duration: 1st October 2024 to February 2026

No. of vacancy: 05

Job responsibilities:

  • Carry out project activities at community level for supporting the overall planning of the project.
  • Maintain regular communication with community and liaison with different government departments, district and upazilla level administrations, local government institutions, CSO, CBO, Local Medias in the project area
  • Organize project activities including capacity building activities, meeting, workshop, orientations and event at respective areas with different stakeholders
  • Collect field data as per plan for development of mapping on context based landslides, flashflood and displacement problem and anticipatory action for the dissemination of early warning system in the community level
  • Conduct awareness for Early Warning Systems (EWS) and anticipatory actions.
  • Strengthening Youth Volunteer Engagement in Landslide Anticipatory Action
  • Identify and support to preparing safe spaces for temporarily displaced population as a result of landslides
  • Provide field level support for developing the local Anticipatory Action Plans on early warning system , landslides and internally displaced populations.
  • Provide field level project information to Project Officer and preserve all field records.
  • Follow up Project activities in the targeted areas.
  • Maintain gender-sensitive approach in all stages and maintain safeguarding measures
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for all project activities.
  • Any other task assigned by the Management
