Essential Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience and capacity as a field officer/ project officer
  • Good understanding of climate change, labor migration, social safety net and human rights issues.
  • Highly organized, reliable attention to detail and ability to work independently when needed
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working atmosphere
  • Good working relationships with colleagues, partners, external actors and allies and satisfactory communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Advanced computer skills;
  • Analytical skills and decision- making ability even in complex and sensitive situations

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in working on climate change, migration, human rights, and social safety net projects/programs.
  • Experience in adaptive management.
  • Have a valid driving license

Responsibilities & Context

Job Location : Dhaka (with frequent field visit)

Probation Period: 3 months

Job Type: Contractual – Initially for One Year. (Extendable based on performance and available fund)

Reported to : Project Manager

Overview: The Field Officer (FO) is a position under the Climate induced migration and modern slavery in the Sundarbans region of Bangladesh (CIMMS) Project, based at Shyamnagar Upazila of Satkhira district. The FO is going to be responsible for the field-level activity planning and implementation of the project at the designated working area. He or she will be responsible to the Project Manager.

Activity Planning and Implementation:

  • Develop and execute detailed plans for project activities, including spouse group orientations, outreach campaigns, door-to-door campaigns, courtyard meetings, life-skills training sessions, and exchange meetings at both the upazila and national levels.
  • Ensure that all project activities are completed within the stipulated timelines and meet the project’s objectives.

Community Engagement:

  • Unity members in courtyard meetings and other project-related activities.
  • Conduct outreach to mobilize participants and raise awareness about the project goals and activities.

Support and Coordination:

  • Organize and manage the logistical and material needs for awareness-building and skill development programs for youth groups.
  • Assist the Project Manager during field visits, ensuring smooth operations and providing necessary support.

Financial and Logistical Management:

  • Manage and track the financial aspects of field activities, ensuring proper allocation and utilization of resources.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure materials and arrange logistics for various programs and events.
  • Ensure 100% standards in financial and logistical management to meet accountability and transparency.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Regularly monitor the progress of field activities and provide detailed reports to the Project Manager.
  • Identify and address any challenges or issues that arise during the implementation of project activities.

Collaboration and Networking:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials, and other relevant organizations.
  • Represent the project at local meetings and forums to advocate for project goals and share updates on progress.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Represent OKUP when and where necessary,
  • Any other activity required and directed by the
  • Facilitate and ensure active participation of community members in courtyard meetings and other project-related activities.
  • Conduct outreach to mobilize participants and raise awareness about the project goals and activities.
